Hi all.

I'm looking for specific gaming mats, but can't seem to find anything that matches the picture in my head.

Mat should preferably be mousepad material, PVC would be a second choice.

1. Underground/Cave mat or very dark (Fantasy) city ruins.
I found a violet underground one and one with dungeon tiles. I'd like something more natural looking or in the case of the dungeon tiles, with more variety. Every city ruin map was either too light or it had patches of bushes, grass, etc. on it. Nothing that could pass for underground.

2. A simple woodland one. I thought this would be easy to find, but turned it's not. There is a variety of grasslands with no variety usually found in woods, and some swamps, but that's about it.

So, anyone can help me?
I looked through the usual mat producers: Deepcut, Gamemat EU, PWORK, Kraken, Battlemat

What would a woodland mat be like? Top-down pictures of trees? Deep cut studios have 2d tree tiles they sell seperately, I am sure they will be happy to print them directly onto a mat for you.

Yeah, not sure what you'd want in a wooded mat that isn't graphically represented trees, etc. Any of the swamp, grass, muddied grass ones would be appropriate. Do you want like a pinestraw looking layout or something? Maybe one with more rocks and bits?

my favorite mat makers are: gamemat.eu and frontlinegaming.org

frontline has the cool swamp design, the only part I held me back was the corner logo they print on their mats, you could cover with terrain in play.

grassland are load and bound by multiple companies, but like you said I haven't found one that's cool looking.

gamemat has a lava ground one that could be suitable for underground, but might not be what you have in mind.

That swamp is pretty close to what I'm looking for in a woodland one... but without water.
The grassland ones have too much grass for wood.

Best companies I've used and can endorse are:

DeepCut Studios
Urbanmatz
Gamemat.eu

These three blow Frontline Gaming away as far as graphics go - from the experiences I've had.

DeepCut has a Swamp one which has no "water" per se. It is just dark and mossy with a bunch of tree roots everywhere. Probably close to what you're looking for.

^Muddy Field is also pretty decent, though maybe not quite as Foresty.

If you email Deep Cut you can have the VAT refunded, but it doesn't automatically remove it when you order.

PS: Worth emailing some of these companies and suggesting it as well. A mat simply called "Forest Floor" with pine needles, ferns and more rocks and roots would be a decent seller I'd imagine.
