Subject: [2000] - Daemons and TSons - GT advice needed
Got a GT coming up, and I’d like some list review.
Please ignore the psychic powers, they aren’t optimized here.
I have a few options that I’ll mention at the bottom.
Daemon Prince of Chaos [9 PL, 180pts]: Corruption, Hellforged sword, Wings
. Nurgle: Miasma of Pestilence
The Changeling [5 PL, 100pts]: Gaze of Fate
+ Troops +
Nurglings [3 PL, 54pts]: 3x Nurgling Swarms
Nurglings [3 PL, 54pts]: 3x Nurgling Swarms
Nurglings [3 PL, 54pts]: 3x Nurgling Swarms
++ Total: [112 PL, 1996pts] ++
I’m not completely sold on the Nurgle Prince. I could take a mounted Slerald but that has been extremely underwhelming in test games. The points savings would go to reinforcemrnts, either splits or spawn.
I also am not sure whether I should have the Warlod be a TSons Prince with 3++ (which has worked very well in test games, giving me two princes with 3++ and the LoC with 2++), or if I should give the LoC the -1D trait to make him even more insanely survivable.
Thoughts?

List looks mostly good. Couple of things, I'd change out the nurgle DP for a khorne DP with wings and Skullreaver. He's always worth the points last night he killed a gallant, crusader and dropped an armiger to 1 wound before going out all for 180 points! He can fight again for 3 cp and on a charge he'll do about 20 wounds to a knight.
Not sure about your horror makeup. Blues seem massively underwhelming. I generally run brimstones and pinks only. Do if you're dropping in 20 pinks you could have another unit of brims or 30 pinks and an icon for your second squad. If your thinking of going for splitting I would say it's never usually worth it to have units of the board that you may not be able to use.
LoC could work for soaking up some decent firepower. I generally run Magnus now for the same reason, if you get some good saves on the go your opponent can sink 3 turns worth of shooting without taking him off the board.

The Blues in te list (that mixed unit of Blues and Brims) is reinforcements that I just include on my list so I don’t forget!
They go into the bigger blob to keep it at 20 models.
The reason I like the Nurgle DP is that he’s more survivable, and Corruption makes him S9 rerolling wounds! That’s crazy against really anything I will face. Plus he’s Resiliant. I’ll check out again he Khorne setup you suggested, but on my initial readthru it did not impress me.
I like the LoC over Magnus bc he is more survivable with a 2++ (although he can’t regen wounds). He also keeps me legal in a battalion, and he’s cheaper.
He is there SOLELY as a bullet sponge, and he’s pretty good at it.

To get the magical hoarde Assault 3 you need 20 pinks, so 10 pinks, 10 blues will just be 10 assault 2 weapons. You're usually better taking a blob of 30 if they're starting on the board and if you get really hammered for morale, but not dropping below 20 pinks (say taking 10 casulties) then spending 2 CP to avoid taking morale.
You can hide the T'Son prince pretty well for most of the game, so that 3+ won't matter for t1 or t2. So I'd give the immpossible robe and incoporial form to LOC to make him a pain to remove for slay the warlord.
The skullreaver prince is getting 6 str11 attacks doing d6dmg -4 AP and d3 mortal wounds on a 6. He rerolls wounds against titanic too. imo nothing in the game is a bigger bargain.

I'm not 100% sure on this.. But I believe the T'son's DP and LoC have to be a Warlord to be able to take the relics.
At least that is what battle scribe says...

The detachment your warlord is in gets one free relic. Then you may use straragems (from any faction of which you have a pure detachment) to get up to two relics per faction. BattleScribe doesn’t account for the use of those stratagems. I have two factions in my list, meaning I can get up to 5 relics (three from WL’s faction, two from other) which would cost me 6CPs.
Anyone with insights into the Warlord dilemma from OP?
A Prince, especially with Warptime, will get into combat with a nasty target very quickly, so having the 3++ is actually pretty important despite having shooting protection for a turn or two.

Yeah, I don’t have any mixed Horror units to start, but I do have some points set aside for splits. Pretty standard tactic I think. Not quite sure what in my list you’re referencing.
