1: Are these abilities auras or do they only affect the units that were within 6' at the start of the turn?

2: If they are auras then can you move a unit into the aura's range for kauyon to get the benefit?

As far as I am aware, they are not auras. You trigger them, and then units that were in range benefit. Moving a unit in after activating it doesn't grant the benefit. Since it happens at the beginning of your turn, you must use it before moving any units. It's the same deal as Ethereal abilities.

This is legitimately one of the things that needs a clarificatory FAQ, if only because they didn't bother writing the rule properly in the first place.

There’s an alternate view that it becomes an aura when activated. This is why it needs an FAQ, as it’s not at all clear which interpretation is correct.

I thought I’d post this as the flip side, as otherwise BCB has just posted one hot take as if it’s the only way people play. Note I haven’t said which I believe it is, before anyone steams in with a reply, just providing full context.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"
