Hey folks!
We're planning the missions for the Beer and Pretzels Open 2018 up in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, and we're discussing making a custom mission. Our region has already had a big and very competitive GT this year (the TBMC ITC GT... that acronym makes me think Bojack Horseman...), so folks are in for something a little more casual. That said, as much as we like casual, we also love rewarding player skill. Here's our mission, For a Few Pretzels More. Let me know what you think of it, and if there's anything that stands out as potentially problematic or not conducive to a fun time.
Mission:
Deployment - Front Line Assault deployment zones.
Objective Markers - 6 objective markers, start with one pretzel on each objective marker.
Victory Conditions - At the start of each player's turn, that player rolls a dice. Place d6 pretzels on the resulting marker. At the end of each player's turn, the player controlling any objective with pretzels on it may remove one pretzel from those objectives and score one Victory Point for each pretzel removed this way (and go ahead and eat the pretzel, if you wish).
Game Length - Game ends after the end of the 6th battle round.
Custom Mission Strategems:
Crack a Beer (1CP): Play this when scoring objectives at the end of any player turn. Remove an extra pretzel from a controlled objective and score an extra Victory Point. Use this stratagem no more than once each turn.
Tap the Keg (1CP): Play this when scoring objectives at the end of any player turn. Remove up to d3 pretzels from an objective you control. For each pretzel removed this way, gain a Command Point. Use this stratagem no more than once each turn.
