So I’ve already made a KillTeam with each of the two factions I play (IG & Tyranids) and am buying the KillTeam start up box for the terrain, board, tokens, and rulebook.

I have zero knowledge of the two KillTeams that come with it, Adeptus Mechanicus and Genestealer Cults. Even though I’m not buying the kit for the models I would like to build them so that they form a decent KillTeam just to give myself options and have the ability to pick from 4 teams to play with.

Anyone have any info on how to build the 2 included factions? I definitely don’t want to mess up and load them up so that they are over 100 pts but don’t want to underload them either. Is it even possible to build the two factions up to or close to 100 points with what you get in the box?

Any help appreciated.

If you look through the booklets you are given in the kill team starter box, it should include not only instructions to build the two teams, but 2 example kill teams using only what's in the starter set.

I'm pretty sure the two example kill teams are 100pts each, so just copy the wargear listed on the roster for the two teams and you should be OK to go!

This is what I am hoping for. However I have had others on Facebook tell me otherwise, saying different point amounts from 65 to mid 80s. I also found the following off of RedIt but don’t know how true it is: “The recommended/default build is actually pretty good.

You can't have more than 1 Leader; giving him the Bolt Pistol and the Power Pick seems like a pretty good option, for 9 points.

You can't have more than 4 Gunners, 2 of each "set" of weapons. I recommend making 4 Gunners, and pick 2 of each set (don't pick 2 of the same). The "default" load out is Heavy Stubber, Seismic Cannon, Flamer, and Grenade Launcher.

The remaining 5 guys will be normal guys, with either Autoguns or Shotguns. Recommend a mix of 3 and 2.

1 guy can have an Icon.

If you do the default build, with no Icon, it comes to 65 points (the datacard with the Seismic Cannon incorrectly states 6 points, it should be 8).

The default Skitarii team comes in at 96...

However, keep in mind that for every 10 points fewer than your opponent, you get an additional Command Point at the start of the battle, so in this case the GC get 3 extra Com Point”

You could also thrown in Genestealers from your Tyranids to get the Cult closer to 100.

I would ask this question in the corresponding Kill Team Tactics threads. You will probably get better answers the, but no guarantees.

Remember, for every 10pts less than your opponent's you get cookies.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

For the GSC your gonna have a hard time getting to 100 with out taking some silly choices.
