I have my doubts the Emperor was Jesus, since Dan Abnett's Perpetual Oll Persson is Catholic. Is there anyone who thinks he was?

Well, Jesus wasn't a Catholic, does that help?

A ton of armies and a terrain habit...

The Emperor is not Jesus. Marbo is Jesus. Except He did not die for our sins, He came to earth to slaughter those who defy Him. He was betrayed and crucified and decided that crucifixion is really just a relaxing way to unwind after along day of slaughtering heretics, so He crucified all of the Romans before descending into hell to kill Satan and claim his head for His trophy shelf. Belief in the false Emperor will not save you, only through giving your soul to Marbo and performing appropriate slaughtering of heretics can you hope that you will not one day look in the mirror and find Him looking back at you, knife in hand and a demolition charge hidden in your head.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Yes, I do recall that Jesus was quoted as saying, "BURN THE HERETICS, THE ALIENS, AND THE MUTANTS!"

Active armies, still collecting and painting First and greatest love - Orks, Orks, and more Orks largest pile of shame, so many tanks unassembled most complete and painted beautiful models, couldn't resist the swarm will consume all
Armies in disrepair: nothing new since 5th edition oh how I want to revive, but mostly old fantasy demons and some glorious Soul Grinders in need of love

Yep. If there was one thing Jesus was renowned for, it was his genocidal mania coupled with his constant exhortations to conquer and subdue all those who stood in his way.

I'm not sure that we ever get much in terms of concrete references that point to the Emperor being Jesus, other than that he was secretly several great leaders / mythical figures throughout history.

He was, however, Saint George.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
