A little scenario I've been pondering. Well, sort of the opposite of "little." This is inspired by the old scenarios Games Workshop used to make for the Lord of the Rings game.
Participants
Heroes: Batman (Rebirth), Wonder Woman (On Foot), Cyborg, The Flash (Either), Shazam, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Villains: Steppenwolf. 6 Parademons
Reinforcements: Villain: Darkseid. Hero: Superman (Movie)
Board Size
36" by 36"
Scenery
Gotham or Washington DC styled Cityscape recommended.
Deployment
The villain player deploys Steppenwolf and 6 parademons in base contact with a board edge. Afterwards, the Hero player deploys The Justice League within 3" of the opposite board edge. Darkseid and Superman are not deployed at the start of the game.
Game Length
12 rounds. As the battle opens, the villains have the initiative and have the "Mastermind" rule, Darkseid and Batman do not. At the end of Round 6, refill the bag. The tide has turned and the Heroes now have Mastermind rule, whether Batman is still conscious or not.
Escalating Engagement
At the end of Round 3, Darkseid arrives, placed in base contact with the villains board edge.
At the end of Round 6, Superman (movie) arrives, placed in base contact with one of the board edges that aren't deployment zones and more than 4 inches away from the Villains board edge. All other standing Justice League members may make a free move towards Superman equivalent to their first 'speed' bracket, as the heroes rally in the turning tide..
Unending Hordes
In Rounds 1-6, if a Parademon is killed, replace it at the villains board edge at the end of the round they died. Additionally at the start of any round, before the start of the power phase, the Villain player can voluntarily remove an unconscious Parademon as a casualty.
In Rounds 7-12, the hordes are thinning, it takes an additional round for a Parademon to return.
The Parademon "Self Detonation" rule is rewritten for this scenario as: "All enemy and friendly models within 2" must make an agility test. If failed they suffer 2 damage. Then remove this parademon from the game as a casualty."
Victory
Keep a running tally of Villain "Levels" killed (including respawned Parademons). Subtract from this total the 'Levels' of any incapacitated heroes, or KO heroes at the end of the game. This is a tracker to see how well you did in The Justice Leagues first great battle. Swap sides and try again. If the total is negative, not only is the battle lost, but the entire Earth has now fallen under the Iron Rule of Darkseid.
