Hi all, I took some tips from some of you guys and some pointers from some tutorials online and painted up this captain I had lying around.

Pretty pleased overall, particularly with the black and beige robes, and also the face - something that I have always struggled with in the past.

Still getting to grips with thinning paints properly, I can see the improvement it makes, but definitely room for more - I am not helped by the zoomed in photos here, it doesn't look so bad to the naked eye.

Also pleased with the OSL effect on the belt. That's certainly a technique that I think is super awesome and which I would like to improve.

In terms of the areas I am unhappy with, I would say the sword and the basing. Obviously I haven't even really made an attempt at basing, but this is my first real attempt at a power sword like this, so given the circumstances, I'd say I've made a good effort. In all, plenty of areas to improve on, but plenty of positives too.

Any constructive criticism and advice is appreciated.

Sword is looking a bit shabby from the back angle. Not sure what happened there, partly I think was an uncleaned mould line/damage, but also possibly layering too thickly?
