Hello, is this the right forum for this? I don't know, but I'd say we will all find out soon enough...

Does anyone know if there has been an official reason as to why units such as aggressors, bullgryns, ogryns, assault marines, hellblasters, terminators, and other stuff like them are not usable within the Kill Team rules? Or, baring any official information, any legitimate theories?

I am attempting to plan out a Primaris KT and I'm am having it commission painted. As such, I'd like to just have every thing done at once and so I'm curios if I should pick up a couple of the above mentioned space marine models or just not worry about them.

I believe back in 5th ed when they had kill teams it was restricted to troops and elites.

It's safe to assume that for the most part anything not included in the initial book will likely not be added in for a while outside of the upcoming rogue trader expansion and sisters when they get redone next year.

As for why GW included certain units and not others, we don't really have much of an explanation.

They haven't addressed all of those units specifically, but they have said that things like Terminators weren't included for balance reasons.

Whether we'll see all these units, no one can really say. I'm sure more things will be added to the game but it's all speculation.

Thanks!

That was my suspicion. I may go ahead and grab a single hellblaster and an aggressor and have them painted just in case.

For Necrons GW decided they wanted model selections with the least amount of load-out choices and to be as bland as possible.

Paradigm for a happy relationship with Games Workshop: Burn the books and take the models to a different game.

If only there were a HoR Killteam, or something. So that all those ASM, Scorpions, Mandrakes, etc could be of use in KillTeam.

My guess is that they were trying to balance the game... key word is "trying." I haven't gotten to play with or against multiple Kill Teams yet, so I don't know if it actually worked or not.

As opposed to what flavorful, upgrade-heavy and highly full of individual character Necron unit that was not included?

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

I adore the game, and in my local area it is flourishing. I find that as my group learned the rules, with a 10 minute set up time we can play through a whole game in about 35-40 minutes. Which is great!
