This is a wish list thread, growing out of the Colony 87 thread, and asking what sci fi models do you want?
https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/759810.page
For me one of my main desires, futuristic civilians and weapon packs, was fulfilled last year with Maelstrum's Edge's broken. (And I will buy some this year!)
https://www.maelstromsedge.com/medge/store.jsp?p=30
And of course the plastic Necromunda line scratches another long-standing itch and the upcoming Rogue Trader game promises another.
And then there's companies like Victoria's Miniatures, Anvil and Mad Robot producing some amazing modular kits and boutiques like Wargames Exclusive and Artel "W" Miniatures producing some amazing grimdark figures.
But we wouldn't be human if we didn't want MOAR!
So... have at it!

I'm a sucker for alien monsters, especially ones that can be used as environmental hazards (as opposed to an organized threat). I haven't found much that I like in that space (no pun intended), but I'd love to see more!

Agree with Lorek, more aliens (and actually alien rather than human derivative). Unsurprisingly I also want more spaceships, specifically stuff that doesn't just look like a human boat/sub that is in space but actually alien stuff.

For the love of Jeebus - servitors. Modern, modular, actually-scaled-to-match-newer-GW-kits gothic cyborg men. I don't even care if they're resin instead of plastic at this point.
Also, some not-techpriests that do something a bit more out-there with the concept of transhumanist-horror than "the GW model, but with bewbs". Where are the skittering nightmares? The bloated floating monstrosities? Oddly it seems like FW are the only ones even attempting to realise the weirder side of the Mechanicus/m, even GW are leaning more into the retrofuturism angle.

Maybe some day-labor robots as well?
I'd like to see a stooped-over robot carrying some overweight official, for example - like a rickshaw or palanquin.
Or a porter robot with a built-in backpack holding someone's briefcase or luggage (or groceries)

Animals and plants would be nice; wild, domesticated, riding beasts or beasts of burden.
The odd civilian cowering or running away would be good too - at the moment, all my civvie models look strangely unconcerned about the cyborgs and aliens conducting firefights in their midst.

You'll have to wait 'til early 2019 to get them retail, but Anvil's Daughter's of the Burning Rose KS featured some cool servitor designs. Will edit post with pics when not in work and trying not to get caught shirking...
These monstrosities will be an add on at £12 for 2, with poseable joints and interchangeable limbs. They are about 33mm to top of head.
That said their regiments line given the recent influx of bionics bits could be a decent enough basis anyway if you pick the right torso. Combine with some of the Afterlife vehicle/mech weapons you can purchase separately for ranged servitors.
I'm pulling together a mining servitor built from Kromlech arms (drills and saws) and Anvil Exo-Lord bits at the moment.
I'd like to see some more alts for Inq stuff like Crusaders, Death Cult Assassins and Arco-flagellants. Artel may get there eventually and they've nailed the aesthetic imo, but it can never hurt to have extra options.

I really thought the Adeptus Mech should have gotten a servitor hoard. They were one of the options in the 2nd edition list and a mob of shambling cyber zombies with claws and saws would be a great hoard unit.
Plus you'd have to buy 5 or 6 boxes to make it effective!
Ah well, maybe when I'm the 40k Overfiend.

My impression of Anvil's models was that they're scaled more to match Cadians than modern GW human plastics like Skitarii or the N17 minis.

It is an oath we honour. He's coming from Modiphius for their game Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. I'm personally not a fan of the rules at all, but the models are gorgeous, and Liberty is going to be a big model. Can't seem to find it, but the scale pic they had with his lower leg in frame has him at about Warhound Titan height

Oh hell yeah, some Afrofuturist, or indeed any aesthetically and thematically non-"western" sci-fi models would be great. Not because rabble rabble culture war or whatever, but because they're cool and more cool stuff is always good.

I like that 40K often feels like both a homage and a parody of all sorts of expressions of humanity - our good, bad or just plain crazy... ...IN SPACE! I'd like to see 20 more different cultures/armies given the 40K treatment the way the soviets, rambos, British and French have been We have some Chinese/Japanese stuff, and some native American steam punk, plus space vikings, kind of space knights already. Lots more that could be done though. Indochina? Inuit? Celts? Certianly Afrofuturist is probably the biggest hole though. Automatically Appended Next Post: I like to see Unarmored space vikings too.

And some thoughts from me...
Definitely want to see some other cultural influences! An Indian-themed fantasy or science fantasy faction would be fun and original but also problematic. I remember when the cast of Xena (that historically accurate drama) had to apologize for their take on a mythical India. Still it could be done with a suitably respectful take would be awesome. Or even some Indian/south asian influences in uniforms and dress.
And some multiarmed robots or aliens
Also I've still looking for that perfect diesel punk truck or car for the grimdark or the wastelands.
Though the Mantic Mule is close.

There's an indian-inflected titan legion in 30k (Legio Fureans, the Tiger Eyes) although that basically limits itself to some hints in the typeface of their banners and iconography.
(I may also be mixing up my south Asian cultures, for which I apologise)
As far as afro-futurist miniatures, all I can think of so far are the Masai troopers for the Nomads faction in Infinity and the sefadu faction from MERCS - tribal-styled armour and high-tech assegais (and plenty of rifles, sniper rifles and other fiurearms, right enough).
I'd like to see things like that be representing the cultures themselves, rather than a European interpretation of that (for example, the fantastical models for Kensei seemed more "authentic" to me than those from Bushido).

They (Traveller) did have models many years ago. I'm talking the better part of 3 decades.

I had some battle armour and a couple of skimmer aircar type models.
