I played against a guy and he had a eldar cp farm similar to grand strategist and kurov's aquilla.

I asked him what are the rules that give him that and he said a bunch of eldar words i am not familiar with. Can anyone who plays eldar tell me what wargear, or warlord trait gives them a cp farm?

The “main” CP farm for Craftworlds is having an Autarch as your warlord, as it allows you to gain CP after spending a stratagem on a 6+.
The Ulthwe Warlord trait also allows your warlord to gain a CP on the roll of a 6 at the beginning of every turn.

Drukhari have a Black Heart warlord trait that allows you to gain a CP on the roll of a 6 each time your opponent uses a stratagem.

Harlequinns also have a warlord trait that also regains CP. If they use a stratagem you get to roll a dice. If you roll the cost of the stratagem you gain that main CP (i.e. stratagem costs 2 CP, you roll a 2, you gain 2 CP).

Beyond that, there isn’t really any CP farming stuff for Eldar – and all of it uses your warlord so you can’t stack it across multiple detachments etc.

They guy rolled for each cp he used and he rolled for when i used my cp.

If only 1 warlord trait can be selected then how was able to do both?

He then cheated?
The only ones that technically and practically have more then 1 warlord trait are Alpha legionaires, and even they just have one at each time in the match, if the previous dude bit the dust.

And knights. And dark eldars can get more warlord traits if their primary warlord is dark eldar.

Originally the Autarch was arguably RAW allowing you to roll for both yours and your opponents stratagems, but it was clarified in the Craftworlds FAQ.

So it might have been a mistake, or, he might have been trying to stack other things. Was he just running pure Craftworlds?

He had a black hearth DE warlord. It gains a CP on a roll of 6+ every time you or your opponent spend a CP.

he states Eldar, not DE, atleast he has not specified. If this is the case and the DE are the warlords then he did not cheat, however since he said the Autarch was the one that allowed that i belive he did, or he missed the FAQ's.

With the confusion that there is right now between Eldar and Aeldari, i wouldn't be surprised if new players mistook one term for the other.

True, especially if we consider that soup is a thing.

Always ask to see rules when you think something is "off" with your opponents tactics. You can ensure it is a valid tactic, and It will help you to remember the rules for future instances. Never take someones word for the rules.
