I run space marines and am thinking about allying in some inquisition models. I was thinking of putting some acoloytes in the drop pod all with melta guns and drop pod deep striking them.

I was thinking 2 units of 5 acoloyes with melta guns so 10 melta guns dropping in. We are playing power level so it will cost me 10 power which I think is a good price for 10 guys deep striking with meltas and re-rolling to hit and re-rolling to wound ( as im facing chaos).

Is there anything stopping 2 units of 5 guys embarking on a drop pod?

You might as well do Storm Bolters. I'm pretty sure Acolytes are the cheapest source of Storm Bolters.
