I've been into sci-fi modeling for a good long while and honestly just sort of wanted to pick up a few Citadel paints because they seemed to work much better for hand brushing than the Tamiyas i'd been working with and now I'm somehow building a Blades of Khorne army. I haven't played any games and I don't know if it's really going to get that far, but we do have a store in town, so it's not like I couldn't find somewhere to play if I wanted to. We'll see. It really all started as a diversion from more complicated models, and now i'm having entirely too much fun brush painting a bunch of demons and barbarians.

The Bloodthirster that started it all is in my user gallery, I just can't link to it because this is my first post. I'm also just wrapping up the ten Blood Warriors from the start collecting boxset and then I'll probably do something else because I'm sick of Khorne Red. Which is a problem because I also want to build some Skitarii, and if I paint them blue like I want to, I'll probably be shouted off this board

Hi spacehamster. Don't feel like you're obligated to throw dice on the table to enjoy the hobby. There is something about engaging with models you've painted, though...

Your Bloodthirster looks amazing, by the way. Consider starting a hobby log to encourage your painting hobby here and get feedback. I'm looking forward to what else you have in store.

take your time and enjoy working on your models. I've been waiting for the orks codex to drop before I start trying to find some games.

That's kinda the thing, yeah. i'm used to just building and painting things and then putting them on display, and there's something anticlimatic about that point where you're done with a model. With gaming minis I keep thinking, you know, I could actually do something with these.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
