So, the Unnumbered Sons; the Primaris Marines not initially formed into new chapters. I have been digging around the information I could find on the Unnumbered Sons and I noticed something odd. There seems to be several different description of what they look like and I cannot seem to find any official art to verify against. These are basically the general descriptions I’ve been able to find.

-They wore the livery of their founding Primarchs united by their prominent badges that were crossed with pale grey chevrons.

-They wore the livery of their founding Primarchs united by their prominent badges that are pale grey chevrons.

-They wore no livery and are united by their prominent badges that are pale grey chevrons.

So my question is, what in the glorious name of the God-Emperor of Mankind do they look like!?

1. What is the color of their armor (legion colors, grey or other)?
2. What is the color of their pauldrons (if the rest of the armor is grey and so are the chevrons…)?
3. What shoulder iconography do they use (chevrons alone or over legion icon/how many chevrons/what orientation are the chevrons)?

Anyone who can find official examples wins, but I’d be more than happy to see/hear what folks have done with their own Unnumbered Sons.

I don't think there are any as of yet. I'm still banking that Codex: Primaris is on the horizon and will feature a lot of information such as this, along side a host of new miniatures.

Never even knew these existed until now...

Interesting.

OP- GW has numerous things like this in their history for you to play with in your own way and possibly nothing ever "official" will appear for them (for example I had a Cursed Founding army of Flame Falcons ages ago and to this day they've never had an "official" colour scheme.). Personally I would paint them a la Deathwatch, except grey armour. Parent chapter badge on one shoulder, and the chevron thing on the other.

If you break apart my or anyone else's posts line by line I will not read them.

I'd imagine they'd be quite plain and basic and wearing unpainted power armour, but displaying their "chapter shoulder" in the hereldry of their Primarch legion. So all Sons of Guilliman display the Ultramarine badge and all of Russ display the Space Wolf badge and all of Manus display the Iron Hands badge. I'd imagine their other markers are codex standard according to rank (Red helmets for Sergeants, White for Vets, even in non-codex groups like Russ Sons) and take influence from Guilliman's ideas. I'd also imagine they'd have some sort of unifying Indomitus Crusade campaign badge, as well as an Unnumbered Sons sigil like an Infinity icon.

Thanks for the comments folks. I really like the idea of them being Deathwatch style, but with mostly grey/unpainted armor. For the particular project I'm working on, they are already Deathwatch Primaris, so I really only have 1 shoulder to work with.

Those images are great. I really like the chevrons on the Ultramarine and the White Scar. Makes me wonder if there is a shade of grey that will show up on all of the legions' heraldry; something between Space Wolf and White Scar.

I always imagined them of being painted in their full legion panapoly, just with a grey chevron, so a blood angel unnumbered son is in red armor, etc

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
