So, the traitor legions sometimes have chapter symbols, sometimes not. Some traitor legions have them on the right shoulder, some on the left. So, I can understand not all Chaos Marine transfer sheets having every traitor legion transfers. But, the Loyalist legions are very proud of their chapter and make sure to have their chapter symbol on their shoulder. So, the Space Marine transfer sheet has transfers for all first founding legions except Raven Guard. FW does carry a Raven Guard transfer sheet, but it's not cheap and doesn't have very many shoulder pad-sized transfers. Does GW have something against Raven Guard?

Not care about Raven Guard? What about Iron Hands? At least you've got a named character...

And back on topic - which transfer sheet? I haven't paid attention to any lately.

Gathering the Informations.

The Marine boxed sets only come with a small thing for Ultramarines at this point. Everything else is either shoulderpad upgrades or things of that nature.

I can also tell you that your impressions of the Raven Guard transfer sheet are incorrect.

You get 130 Scout/Marine sized transfers in different types. 26 solid white, 26 solid black, 26 solid gunmetal grey--then 26 outlined of each.

You then get another 60 Terminator sized transfers with 10 solid black, 10 solid white, 10 gunmetal grey--and the same number outlined of each type.

There's another 15(5 solid white, black, and gunmetal grey) small shoulderpads which realistically you're going to be cutting up if you're running any Scout Snipers so they can be attached near the cloaks.

It's important to note in any case that this is not the Chapter transfer sheet(which is no longer sold for whatever reason) but rather the Legion transfer sheet.
The Chapter sheet never had gunmetal grey ones, but they look pretty good on the white arms they've given to Veterans now.

And it's funny you should mention that Chaos Marines don't have all their legion icons....because they do actually have all 9 of the original traitor Legions icons, plus Red Corsairs and Crimson Slaughter, and generic Chaos symbols for all 4 alignments.

The Space Marine chapter transfer (that is no longer in new boxes, btw) doesn't have Raven Guard or Iron Hands, yet DOES have Crimson Fists which isn't even a founding Chapter. There also aren't any Space Wolf transfers, despite it having Blood Angels and Dark Angels ones.

It's rather frustrating. I just freehand it.

It is worth mentioning that Space Wolves got a transfer sheet available.

It may not be a founding chapter, but it is the first chapter!

See this is why I based my homebrew chapter symbol off the Ultramarine U symbol.

Damned shame tho.

I do appreciate the information. And, I did realize it was the Legion transfer sheet not the chapter transfer sheet. But, unfortunately, it's the only official transfer sheet I can find anywhere for Raven Guard. If I used the Gunmetal transfers on some of the marines, would they be allowed (since they are Legion not Chapter) in a GT or ITC tournament if I wanted to use them?

I can't see any issues. Like I said, it looks good on the white arms they have the Veterans and characters now.

A different coloured chapter symbol is going too far. You should consider yourself lucky if you make it out of there with your models intact.

But seriously you can paint them hot pink and say they're raven guard with no problems. You shouldn't have any problem at a tournament over the colour of the transfer. If you do have a problem because of it it's an easy way to know they're not the sort of people you ever want to play again.

Aren't the 30k & 40k versions identical (unlike the White Scars)?

That was the point, they were saying GW gave RG better treatment than the other chapters with regards to rules. Hell, when I saw the topic I was kind of expecting a thread asking for RG to get nerfed, I was pleasantly surprised the thread was about transfers.

I read it as "They don't care about RG if the rules are anything to go by"

But I guess you were saying "They don't NOT care about RG if the rules are anything to go by"

pretty easy to mistake

I see it now. I'd be saying yes to the title "Does GW just not care about Raven Guard?" and no to the closing sentence of the post "Does GW have something against Raven Guard?" You thought I was responding to the one when I thought it was clear I was responding to the other.

Pfft at least Raven Guard get Shrike. All the chapters except my beloved Iron Hands at least get special characters. The IH are the red headed step children of the loyalist side.

Raven Guard have long been an "also ran" chapter. They've never been a predominant force, fluff-wise or model-wise. They're in the same spot as Imperial Fists, Crimson Fists, Iron Hands, Salamanders, etc.

If you don't have your own codex you're just an off-shoot store brand.

GW have always considered Ultramarines, Blood Angels, Space Wolves and Dark angels to be "the big four" everyone else? is second tier.

Yep, I guess I just think people need to be realistic with your expectations. I know a lot of people are new to 40K, but there is a lengthy trend that hasn't changed much since the mid-90's. It's akin to someone coming out and complaining about GW not caring about Saim Hann or Ulthwe etc. as an Eldar player. Craftworlds have never been given much attention and it's unrealistic to expect they will in the future.

Raven Guard get more love via Horus Heresy than most factions in 40K get. That's something.

The transfers GW released in 2012, including Raven Guard, Iron Hands, and Salamanders. They are very difficult to find now. It would be great if they did another run, even though they are sparse compared to the FW versions.
