So I've had the "Estoeric KIll, Delivered From Afar" stratagem used on a Tantalus blow away my characters on several occasions. 12 S8 D2 shots that target characters seems a bit OP but I think it's legal. Can anyone find me a reason it isn't?

AFAIK, it's perfectly legal. The Tantalus can take a Haemonculous Coven keyword, and the Strategem simply refers to Dark Creed units.

Perfectly legal. If the stratagem wasn't supposed to affect vehicles it wouldn't.

I wonder how much they consider the interactions some stratagems have with forge world units. The best vehicle you can use it on in the dex is a raider.

I would think that would be more up to Forge World to consider the interactions of their units with some stratagems.

Which considering how bad FW is doing right now with pretty much everything they do I somehow doubt they will ever take a look at balancing such things.

Forgeworld is a separate studio, and everything they put out is either op nonsense, or a waste of printing space.

As such The main citadel design studio probably does not consider forgeworld at all when they make rules.

7th edition called and wants its FW opinions back. ;-)

You could equally apply all that hyperbole to GW Codexes. All the most broken units and worst units right now are in GW ‘dexes. FW Indexes were written on a lunch break and are horribly proofed, but there’s some fun stuff in there and none of it is really among the most broken units in the game.

But you’re right in that the main studio offerings reference FW as little as possible, mostly on a “can you walk into a Warhammer store and buy a plastic kit of it?” philosophy. I.E. if you can’t they don’t want to feature it. Sure that falls over fir Direct Only but we know the availability thing is their main driving force.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"
