Hi everyone,

I didn't see this published anywhere, so I thought I would let everyone know about Zealot Miniatures' upcoming kickstarter Litchmyre Dungeon, which will start on the 22. September. (I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but really like the look of the miniatures)

https://www.facebook.com/zealotminiatures/

The minis were sculpted by a talented Brazilian, Boris Woloszyn, and have a really nice hand-sculpted look about them without looking like play dough.

https://www.facebook.com/boris.woloszyn/?fref=mentions&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARCcRljBeK0FWuKNZqXAaYdPFWl4sYPyCyqcEhaUeIc7uQmWJ-de2IKhQWzMloeLO7ALM3UKTITP8FglGicBsXo5_i_Td2ScCud3s7-mxVLb_Ywm19IK4ID_hw0eTenRGAZUAE6HL6Ts31hNwrVXg7VA_c7sGXGPDnKAC0plXQF9J40d16b-HQ&__tn__=K-R

As far as I understand, these were a collaboration developed after Boris had sculpted a beautiful range of miniatures that were in homage to the original Hero Quest.

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

I'm not sure what the price will be, but I hope to pick some of these up in the future. Boris indicates the size of the miniatures on the photos, but I think they wouldn't look out of place in Age of Sigmar.

So here are some updates on the prices, contents and stretch goals.

Based on the quality of their minotaurs, I'm happy to back this.

Almost tempted to pick up an old Heroquest board and track down some cards to try playing through it again. I'm sure there's some more updated modernized rules out there.

I wonder if they'll offer up some of their furniture from the first KS campaign to go along with these guys.

You know there's going to be a "gargoyle" waiting for us as a stretch goal. There has to be!

I recently found a website which had a modular Hero Quest map with individual rooms (like Warhammer Quest) that could be easily printed.

You know there's going to be a "gargoyle" waiting for us as a stretch goal. There has to be!

You think?

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Not so much my bag, but having gone in heavy on their dungeon terrain KS a while ago I can confirm that the quality of their stuff is fantastic, so if it is your thing do not miss out because it's resin - Forgeworld these guys are not.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

Yeah, originally Boris made a complete set of Hero Quest minis where even the poses were 1:1 copies of the originals. They only sold a few before it was C&D:d and happily he decided to make another effort without doing exact copies. Lovely minis from a wonderfully skilled sculptor!

These are amazing. There was a different attempt to do Heroquest by a different group, but that's all been vapor.

I think I'll be backing this.

Also, besides the kickstarter have they ever sold their Minotaurs separately?

I need to find replacements for the HQ heroes and the gargoyle - I replaced the rest from eBay but I’m not willing to pay the prices (or shipping) for them so I’m definitely interested in a set of these if the price is right. The gargoyle was always the worst mini this is great reinterpretation and the extra minions can be used as bosses.

I believe that Zealot Miniatures said on fb that the minotaurs would be available for sale on their website soon.

If that's a precedent, then these miniatures should also be up on the website sometime next year.

Resin is a major disappointment...but I'll be keeping an eye on it. He did a previous run of limited metals, guess I missed my chance.

There’s a note on Facebook and that they plan to launch the KS at 10PM GMT (I assume that should be BST)

Nice. Thinking about just picking up the 4 hero pledge but shipping may price me out.

Only interested in metal if they unlock it...but if it's more than the resin, which is already eye-wateringly priced, I'll have to pass.

I hope the $240 pricetag reflects a ton fo expected freebies, etc. For 35 minis it's really pushing it (I know some of the minis are on the large side). I'd probably settle for a pack of heroes and basic baddies, I dunno. They may have priced me out of it.

13 resin figures for £62 works out at £4.77 a figure.

35 resin figures for £154 works out at £4.40 a figure.

Considering that you can "upgrade" to metal for an extra £1 a figure, I don't have a clue how you can refer to it as "eye-wateringly expensive".

What price do you think that they should be?

Maybe he's thinking more like a Reaper Bones KS where it's pennies per model?

I received a message that shipping for the 4 heroes to the USA would be 5 GBP, or about $6.55 (USD), which would put the four heroes pledge at about $30 for American costumers, which I find reasonable.

It's a better price than Scibor's $10 per hero, though perhaps not the amazing deals one might be accustomed to from kickstarter.

It does become a bit expensive when looking at buying the whole gamer set, particularly in white metal, which is disappointing. The price for the 4 adventurer set is ok I guess. Is there any photos out there of these pieces on a Heroquest board? That Gargoyle looks huge for the Heroquest game board?

Weird that metal is more expensive, it's usually the other way around.

They do the resin casting in house, but I don't think they've got the setup for metal

having to contract that work out could well explain the difference

I'm not an idiot. I'm well versed in metal miniatures, and resin from Zealot, even. I have a large amount of Otherworld minis (which are roughly $9-10 per figure). The fact is I'm not going to part with $261 in a lump sum to get some figures. I would have no problem buying them piece-meal over time, but that much cash for that few figures in one lump sum is too much for me to consider.

The gargoyle is on a 40mm base that will be a problem for HQ but some clever basing might get him on 25mm base.

They posted this comparison pic.

The blue Ice Gremlin is from the HQ Frozen Horror expansion, the black Necromancer is from the HQ Minions of Zargon Expansion

I thought that I'd add a few more scale images, this thread could do with some more pics! Personally i'm most excited for the chaos warrior, a regiment of those guys in different poses would look absolutely badass.

These sculpts are incredible, but they do cost a fair bit (not expensive, just not impulse purchase territory) and I don't own Hero Quest. Even if I did, buying just the base set would be pointless (you'd need the full set to replace all the enemies). Someone convince me I need these!
