Ok I haven't been able to play an actual game in almost 8 years and shelved all my stuff but still love the hobby or at least the idea behind it so I'm thinking of starting over with more of a modelers perspective then a gamers perspective and since almost all of my old guys are so badly damaged or screwed up I will have to start from scratch.

As a theme for my army I'm thinking Starwars focusing on the rebelion I have planned out a few ideas but without regular access to a gaming store im not sure what army i should play them as Ive been thinking either guard ,tau or eldar .

Guard is leading do to the infantry not having to be changed much to work but i also love the eldar speeder bikes look as for tau i have a few usuable guys from but not much inspiration

as for model ideas ive had they are based from what i know of guard

Han solo as a commander (using cadian models)

Chewbacca commisar or bulgran (probaly a bullgran commisar)

Leia i was thinking of either a platton commander or throw her on a speeder bike but not sure what guard has for bikes if anything

luke would be a psyker primarius or a space mariene libraian

as for rest of army most of it would be on foot (using cadian models) the eldar speeder bikes or sentinel frames witch would mean very few actual tanks unless i got very creative

i dont know anything about elder other then cool looking models so not thing planned there any ideas on witch army i should play as with this basic idea how pratical it would be if i ever get to actually play with it since i know guard love there tanks and what to start with as i would like to start at say 500 points and slowly add to it over time since my starting budget isnt all that hi.

Ok after some more reaserch I have decicded to use Astra militarium since they have main look I'm going for and adding some eldar and tau bits here and there to space age it a bit still not sure about how I'ma do the tanks as the standered russ and chimera chasis dont really mold to star wars too well though the taurox and sentinel are usuable without too much work

AM don;t, IIRC, have bikes or anything, but they do have these little buggy things from Forge World, the name of which currently escapes me, that you could use as a speeder

mostly becuase its harder to find games for something thats actually starwars and I want some challange to the modeling so I dont just blow through all my models in a couple days.

as for why i chose chewy as a commisar he was the only one id see who would potential kill an ally as thats not really the rebel way its either that or no commisars and have him as an ogryn bull head or a techpriest

Get a Chewie mini of roughly the right size and play counts-as.

Or give an Ogryn a perm.

never actualy seen a an actual ogren model but some pics ive seen show there larger then terminators? if so might just take an old termy and green stuff it for chewy since finding a chewy model that size would be hard another option would be taller base with a smaller chewy to make the height and footprint roughly the same size.
