My Question for some background...you all know normal Plasma weapons and all the new stuff for the Primaris....these all look like normal Plasma Weapons and they dont have an igniter pipeline under the plasma barrel like the plasma weapons from the Mechanicus (Plasma Caliver for example) or the new knight...

So my Question...What do you think these pipes like those on flame throwers for the igniter flame do on Plasma weapons...why do the plasma weapons of the mechanicum have these pipes...and do you think we will see these on Marine weapons...like Gulimans Bolter ? (and by the Way why did Gulimans Bolter on his fist also have one of these pipes its not a plasma weapon so far...)...

Anyone could shed light on this ?

Because the sculptors think it looks cool. Case closed.

For the Mechanicus it provides a little faction style differentiation. For Cypher it denotes archeotech. Now Carl is running the Marine show they may crop up again, they may not.

In-universe reason- different Forge Worlds have different STCs. A Plasma Gun produced on Lucius will look different to one made on Agripinaa, which will look different to one constructed on Mars.

IRL reason- what Johnnyhell said.

But ShortyPreds raises an excellent point. What the flippety flip is the igniter looking bit on Guilliman's bolter... it looks like someone just added a door handle.for no particular reason. Does it have a heavy flamer alternate fire mode?

Might just stop him pranging the barrel when he's punching stuff?

It does not.

When he first got brought back, it talked about it as though the shells were being 'charged' when they passed that bit and exited the barrel.

Heh, bolter barrels.already look like they are designed to be used as punching devices... and as for "charging" the round, just imagine im cursing with your favourite.disparaging comment... I 1uite like some level of space magic in my sci fi, but this.makes.absolutely no sense whatsoever and doesn't even make the weapon look any better.

It sprays each bolter shell with Gulliman's sweat - instantly blessing it with Swole Manliness.

It's never really mentioned in the fluff whether the Primarchs have Belcher's Glands or an equivalent.
