Does anyone know what the weapon to the left of the primaris marine is? I received it in a mixed bits lot the other day. It's old. It's lead. It looks like the arm of a Battle-Tech Rifleman - except it's about 3 times too big.

It looks like a very old metal sponson mounted twin lascannon.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Maybe a twin lascannon from the old tarantulas.

Oh man...this is going to bug me because it does look 95% like a Rifleman arm.

You are probably thinking of the rapier, and it's definitely not from that.
Doesn't match anything I remember from the old 2nd edition or epic lines.

I know they DID do some larger scale armorcast mechs out there but I don't recall hearing about a rifleman. It was a Mad Cat and an Atlas..

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I'm not sure, but I don't recognise it as a 40k model. The design doesn't really match anything I can remember, even the old 1st edition weapons. Lascannons have always looked pretty much as they do now so I don't think that's what it is. Maybe a very old Autocannon for something?

I wasn't thinking of the rapiers. It reminded me of the space crusade tarantulas, but those were plastic. After looking up the old rogue trader/ 2nd ed tarantulas it is not from them. Tarantulas only became the fully automated versions when forge-world made them, if you didn't know.

Yeah, very definitely not a GW part. If it's not from Battletech, it will be from some similar mech game.

Yeah, like I said, a BT Rifleman: https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=nK5Wa0tx&id=7C5D27467F91841261EF03B493EB48B16EA6D1A6&thid=OIP.nK5Wa0tx7G3Nde5BEuhSHwHaDt&mediaurl=http%3a%2f%2forig08.deviantart.net%2f564e%2ff%2f2016%2f041%2f9%2f9%2frifleman_combo_by_odanan-d9r9hdn.jpg&exph=350&expw=700&q=battletech+rifleman&simid=608021205392688584&selectedIndex=98&ajaxhist=0 I couldn't remember it's Robotech name.

I know once upon a-time Citadel released these guys: http://www.solegends.com/citrt2/slocombes/index.htm (all of whom are also in Battletech, known L-R there as Javelin, Catapult, & Archer). I have no idea of their scale. I wonder if they also did a Rifleman/Defender?

I remembered that the old metal ones had two single guns whereas the rapiers were double guns.

If Rifleman is the name of the Ral Partha mini from Battletech then this isn't from it. I've found mutiple photo's of that mini and the arms don't match.

Does anyone know if they made a prototype of the defender along with the other metal prototypes when they were trying to get Robotech Tactics off the ground?

Long ago in the before time, Robotech the RPG had metal miniatures at one point. Most of them sucked. That appears to be the arm from a Defender. They also had bad Rifts miniatures. Pictures are difficult to find due to the more recent plastic miniatures.

*sighs* it's a joke, sorry battletech culture. among Btechs generally you insist they're called a rifleman, archer etc and NEVER use the Macross/Robotech names

Ah fair enough. Though maybe you shouldn't be suprised when people don't get your obscure in-joke.
