Not All Minis go to Heaven

Impact! believes that lost and forgotten or unmade miniatures shouldn't stay lost to the hard drive abyss they've been relegated to.

Whether they were from discontinued lines, failed or undelivered projects we think they deserve to be resurected, brought into the light, and that's why this project is dedicated that end.

Today we give you a chance to get minis that are either no longer available, or never made it the light of day.

Over the past year Impact! has reached out to different Kickstarter Creators whose lines of miniatures failed to fund, were never got delivered or finished, or simply were discontinued after an initial printing run.

We've licensed or outright purchased everything shown in this project and now all that is left raise the capital for molds and materials and bring these amazing miniatures to backers to you, your friends, and your families and for gamers on tables everywhere

WHERE DID THESE MINIATURES COME FROM?
•Miniatures from the discontinued board game Wizard's Academy
•Miniatures from the closed company ZN Games
•Miniatures from the discontinued line for Breachworld by Jason Richards
•Miniatures from the discontinued line by Hivetrygon Minis
•Miniatures from closed company Soul Jar
•Miniatures from the failed to fund KickStarter Dawn of the Archmage
•Miniatures from the failed KickStarter Torn Armor

NOTE ON TORN ARMOR

One of the group of STL files I was able to purchase was the STLs from the Torn Armor KS project that funded but failed to deliver. While I have no connection to that project at all, I will work with you to get you some/all of the miniatures at cost + shipping. I set up a special $2 reward level to assist with handling this.

I'm not a fan of most of the minis, but man that is cool of them to offer to take care of Torn Armor backers at-cost!

The only thing is, the models from that looked much better in the original Torn Armor campaign. Maybe it's just a lack of shading on the renders? Because they don't look very detailed here...

From the sound of it a lot of the Torn Armour stuff was done by an artist with no idea about casting (or in places using 'skins' rather than actually 3d modelling stuff?) etc,

so on top of the shading these are the files made printable

Oh, and for some of the spincast sets you may be wondering why the whole set is so much cheaper than individual minis, it's because the set is done in a single mould so cherry picking singles means the rest of that spin could be scrap

Wait a sec, that Sun God mini looks a lot like a Rikard lizardman! Man, I do not need a random giant lizard bro cluttering up my case ... or do I?

EDIT: Found his greens >> http://www.coolminiornot.com/209138

And a painted version >> http://www.lustria-online.com/data/imported/188961-102_5735.jpg

Be careful with that - unpainted miniatures breed....

OH man--alien brain! Alien brain! I already have two, but now I could have more! And the larval brain and alien slugs I never got around to buying! I'm in for those.

As for Torn Armor...I lost about $40 on that campaign. Do I dare spend even more money to get those minis?

Also, does this mean the Trollforged Alien Assimilation minis are still going to be sold? By whom?

Why are the two lizardmen so much though? They aren't that big are they?

Did Rikard sculpt the Tales of War saurians? They look quite similar in style.

I swear there's a few more greens of stuff the guy did, but I don't know where I saw it....

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

They might require entire molds for themselves? I think they were always expensive compared to the other Trollforged stuff.

It's a shame we can't order individual evil chaos warriors, because a few of them are really great.

I feel like those must be Rikard sculpts too, it's just a little harder to make out the telltale tyrannosaur head under all those spikes. And yea, the price on these saurians ... If I do the Sun God it's because a) Rikard sculpt, b) less busy lizardbro sculpt, and c) relatively affordable, since I can buy him by himself. $5 US shipping is doable.

EDIT: Also d) he's huuuuuge!

The Sun God is 70mm tall (thus the price).

The 2 Lizardmen take up the entire mold and thus the $38 price due to the number of pieces. They are only 35mm tall ... so totally understood if those are not a good deal.

@RiTides ... I'll see if I can do better with the Contrast to make the Torn Armor renders easier to view.

The Heartbreaker Armies look like great deals, too. I wish there were clearer pictures of them.

@impactminiatures Will these minis be available at retail later? I can only afford so much right now...

Thanks for the reply, Impact! Not sure if there's a digital "wash" option but that always does wonders showing detail on casts... or maybe you could print one out and do it on one physical example to show the detail, if the renders can't be updated.

Thanks!

That Knights and mages set looks like a wonderfully effective two player bundle for Frostgrave.

See what you think now. I shoved the Contrast to +100 and the Brightness to -25 to see if could create a wash effect for the Torn Armor figs .. better?

So much better thanks! Already reached out to my friend who backed Torn Armir to get him onboard

Copied the higher contrast version below:

@impact miniatures. How does the Torn Armor pledge work? I supported Torn Armor and want to buy a handful of the minis from you, but I also want to get one of the deals with the heartbreaker armies. Should or can I pledge the Torn Armor level and then add another pledge during the pledge manager?

I still say someone needs to contact the creator of these beauts and get them into better circulation-

They were made by a Lustria Online member who subsequently got overwhelmed with the demand of orders for them. Some are out there in the wild... I had missed my chance when they were making them sadly.

If you've got their contact info I'd message it to Impact! as they're putting together a list of potential targets for another round of this if it's successful (which it seems to be so far)

they certainly look good

YES. YES YES YES.

Searching for Rikard stuff the other day I came across these by IIRC 'Woogity' again, though I've known about them for years. Apparently he also did a lizardude riding a big lizard that people were queuing up for as well. Also if I read it right he's both overwhelmed and possibly in the armed forces? So being deployed one and off on top of inundated with orders gathered through pretty arcane methods (a waiting list on Lustria Online, since closed due to inactivity on the creator's part).

Bar none, these are the best not-kroxigor I've seen. Do do do want.

If you would like minis other than Torn Armor than just pledge for the best level to get the best deal for all the non-Torn Armor minis you want. After the KS project you can message me and I'll work with you to get the Torn Armor minis at 25% of the price shown on the KickStarter with verification of your Torn Armor pledge.

So if you want both Torn Armor and other minis ... just act like there are no Torn Armor minis in the KS project and pledge that way.

Thank you for ideas for other new companies / sculptors to reach out to.

Digitial sculpts are a lot easier to bring back to life. But I'm open to talking to anyone about hand sculped figures as well.

Thanks for the leads ... I'll see what I can find out.

So I did some research. Woogity did sculpt those ... but no one has heard from him since May of 2017. And his message board is filled with people trying to buy these minis without him responding. http://www.lustria-online.com/members/woogity.13359/ ... Unfortunately this means that messaging him through this forum will get me no where as he has gone full MIA. These were 3-D sculpts which is great ... but unfortunately he printed them through Ownage which is so large ... the odds that they could help with finding the artist is low as well (I've had luck with small casting companies helping me reach the source).

[EDIT] I wrote all that above and then did a lot more digging and found him. I've messaged him and we'll see what happens. I'll update if I hear from him.

Ok. I've changed my pledge. Hopefully the pledge manager period will last a while so I can work it all out then.

If we're talking about failed Kickstarters here, what about Thon, Nexus, or Corpsehammer? Probably a long shot, but at least Thon was all digitally sculpted.

I expect the pledge manager to be open at least through January 2018.

Thon's been putting out releases every now and then since their KS attempt actually. Noble Knight seems to have some of their stuff in stock fairly often. Mostly metals. Some day I might take the plunge just to see what it's like.

Not suer if anyone on Dakka's had any experience with it.

Very cool to hear you've gotten in touch with Woogity. If you guys can work something out I can see a lot of people heading your way for those reptiles!

(Myself included naturally.)
