Yep, signed up for the LVO in February, and as of right now it will be my first tournament, and first step into competitive gaming. Don't get me wrong, I'm going for the fun more than anything else, but also want to put at least a reasonable force on the table.

Of course this could change with any changes in FAQ, CA etc.

I think it's important that I set up some realistic goals for myself at LVO.I won't have a lot of experience vs a multitude of armies, or playing ITC missions in competitive format.

1. Have fun, regardless. Too much money to not have fun.
2. Be competitive enough not to be tabled quickly each game.
3. Perhaps win 1 or 2 games.

With that in mind...

Harlequins Battalion, Soaring Spite

Troupe Master, fusion, kiss 86
Shadowseer 125
5 Harlequins, 3 fusions, 5 caress 125
5 Harlequins, 3 fusions, 5 caress 125
5 Harlequins, 3 fusions, 5 caress 125
3 Starweavers 297
6 Skyweavers, haywire, zephyrglaives 306

Alaitoc Battalion
Farseer skyrunner 130
Ilic Nightspear 80
3x5 Rangers 180
2 hemlocks 420

1999pts, 13CPs

I feel that I need more Skyweavers personally, especially with all the knights present currently. My original list that capitalized on tis was..

Alaitoc battalion

Farseer skyrunner 130
Warlock skyrunner 70
3x5 Rangers 180
5 D-scythe wraithguard 225
Serpent cannons 134

Alaitoc Airwwing
2 Hemlocks 420
Crimson Hunter, lances 160

Harlequin Outrider, Soaring Spite
Shadowseer 125
5 skyweavers, glaives 255
3 skyweavers, glaives 153
3 skyweavers, 2 glaives, 1 bolas 147

Also 1999pts, only 10 CPs but more haywire. Only thing I've heard regarding it so far is to replace the wraithguard in serpent.

Thoughts?

This is a big project. Playing some smaller (local) tourneys in advance would be useful.
It appears that the first list lacks anti-tank.

yeah, I may look around for some local events over the next few months.

I did forget to add the haywire on the skyweavers in my initial post which boosts my AT (fusions, haywire, hemlocks)

Fusion guns and haywires need to come very close to the enemy.
But tanks are often bubble wrapped with infantry such that long range support would be useful.

Assuming we still have a Knight-heavy meta, I'd consider Frozen Stars for your 'Quins. You probably lack the necessary early turn AT to kill a Knight with list #1; but with the Skyweavers you can potentially jump over the screens (yay 'Quins) using Twighlight Pathways, pop off 10.5 wounds on average dice (with Doom) in the shooting, and then charge.

Sounds like suicide I know (and it partly is), but with the Frozen Stars trait, strategem and Doom you can do another 6 wounds in combat (avg. dice), and, best of all, lock down the Knight as it can't just step over bikes. This means you also do 6 minus the number of dead bikes wounds in his turn too. Whatever is left after this can just fall out of combat and fire off (hopefully) the last mortal wounds required to cripple the Knight.

On top of this, the extra attack on your Troupes is certainly not nothing, and the ability to take the Frozen Stars relic (an extra deny) will help against Psyker heavy armies as required

List #2, I'd definitely go Dreaming Shadow over Soaring Spite in a Knight-heavy meta. Max out Haywire and get the extra shots, if the Knight goes for your bikes.

Or, alternatively, replace the Shadowseer with Yvraine and go double-shooting, re-rolling 1s Haywire bikes, which would also allow you to mix-match keywords. Personally I like Silent Shroud on Ynnari-Haywire bikes for the no-overwatch strat and Midnight Sorrow on a Ynnari-Solitaire for the fight-when you die strat.

The lists look more like suicide against a tank heavy army or a list with an IK.
You need to go close and personal to do the damage.
Not my playstyle. How about 3 Ravagers?

My thoughts so far are that most knights are accompanied by squishy stuff that harlequins can chew through, so getting close is not really a problem.
I did think about the Ravagers, but my concern is that the price will soon go up for that loadout.
As for Yvraine, I do like her (and have one painted) but would not want to lose the excellent Harlequin rules (Rising Crescendo).
