I know Age of Sigmar and 40K have them. I am wondering if I missed something and Lord of the Rings have free Core Rules as well. I have become a bit bitter with my depression and not being able to get the new boxset. So now instead of wallowing in what I don't have, I am trying to turn it around and be grateful for what I do have. So I am curious if there is core rules I can look at to see what I have and see what I can put together for a game.

If not, I will make this a modelling/painting project for now and try to get the excitement that I had lost.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Nope,

Youd need to buy the rulebook and the army book to play. In a month or two there will be a hobbit army book aswell.

Best bet is ebay the rulebook as its not to bad at 40ish instead of retail 60 since it comes in a box set. Army book though you may pay more as its also 60 retail so best around 15% off

Negative. The rules are significantly more tactically in-depth than 40k or AOS and would not be possible to be printed in any meaningful form in only a few pages.

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

Thank you very much. I will just have to wait till I can get the money saved up to get the starter set. Greatly appreciated.
