You can only have one leader on your roster for Kill Teams with one data sheet (eg. Harlequins and Grey Knights). If that Leader is forced to mix the next game because of the Convalescence casualty result, you can't field a legal team on the next mission.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

That would only apply in a campaign and then you can ignore the max from the datasheet in your roster as long as you're not fielding over it in a single game so you could recruit a second sergeant leader (or more dramatically kick your leader out and recruit another)

I don't think you're allowed to kick anyone out. Also, there's no provision to add more than one Grey Knight Justicar, which is the only one allowed to be a Leader. So I guess it would be fine for Harlequins, since any Player can be a Leader.

There are no real restrictions other than number of models as to who can be on your roster. Limits like "one member of your team can be a such and such" apply to the team chosen for a mission.

Ah hah, those restrictions are on the kill team, not the roster.

Thank you.

Yeah, you can only have 1 leader in your kill team. You can have as many as you want in your campaign command roster.

Can you continue to add more as the campaign progresses? The only part that talks about adding more miniatures is to fire teams, not specialists...?

Take another look at the rules.

You can add as many models as you want to your Roster, and then there are extra rules for adding models to Fire Teams. The key thing that people seem to miss is the word "though" in the brackets.

In campaign mode you could theoretically add an entirely new kill team for each mission you go on. Probably not worth it as you miss out on experience and trying to track these things could get silly. But it's there.

Oh, interesting...and strange. The rules under "Choosing a Kill Team" seem to be far more universal, but I guess they are meant to only be relevant for the first game; after that, you don't have to choose them from the roster, but can if you want?

Not exactly. You always choose them from your Roster, but you can add new models to your Roster before each mission. There is no limit to the number of models on your Roster.

Let's say your first mission is Take Prisoners and you build a melee heavy team as that's how you gain points in that mission, by killing people in melee. Next mission, you get Assassinate, and you want to take some snipers. Great, add them to your Roster and play them in that mission. Third mission, you need something else in your toolbox, so you add it.

Your Roster might end up being 30 models with differing loadouts and experience levels and eventually, you might not need to do anything but replace casualties.
