Hi Dakkadakka community,

I just wanted to get some c&c on this (possibly cheesy) list before buying the final components for it.

The idea is to have enough armour that it's hard to remove my dakka, and enough infantry to still play objectives. I feel like 4 Taranis armigers should be pretty tough to shift when you have 15 CP, and if they get through those there are still 3 dragoons and 3 dune crawlers. Then for objectives I have 47 infantry (including the servitors and characters). Also the warlord is the dominus, with the CP farm trait and probably the Autocadeuceus.

The main strategy is to run the typical dune crawler castle with the dominus and maybe one of the tech priests, with a screen of rangers and HB servitors for a bit of extra dakka (and to fill out the brigade). Then the dragoons and vanguard can run up to grab objectives a bit more aggressively, or fend off counter attacks. Helverins provide additional fire support, but potentially from a separate vantage point and supported by 1-2 tech priests, and the warglaives provide counter charge deterrent and/or hunt tanks, monsters, and characters.

I haven't play tested it yet, but I feel like it could give most lists a decent fight. Thoughts?

Indeed, you have enough bodies to play successful games.
However, I miss Belisarius Cawl. I found him always hard to remove and he gives decent buffs.

couple points.

1) servitors are crap
2) you aren't getting any CP from your knights detachment.
3) your armigers do not get house bonuses because they you don't have an actual knight, same reason you don't get CP.

you can get rid of the servitors the dominus and the warglaives, droping the brigade to a battalion, and add a crusader. you will be at 8 CP but with the warlord trait on the engineseer getting them back you should be fine.

OR

you can run a battlion + superheavy and have 11 CP if you run three full knights but you wont have room for the dragoons or three dunecrawlers. my list is two engineseers, four ranger squads (two with snipers) and a dunecrawler with array plus three knight crusaders full kitted out. normally the knights do all the work and the admech take care of objectives and some hidden leaders.

I agree, servitors are crap, but they're the cheapest way to fill out a battalion currently. And even though they aren't in any way optimal they do still add 6 heavy bolters in a list where if my opponent is shooting at them they are probably wasting their shots.

I knew that you needed a full on knight for the CP, but I still have 15CP, brigades were FAQed to be worth 12CP, and you get 3CP for being battle forged.

Also, where does it say that an armiger only detachment can't have household benefits, I reread it and only saw the part about CP. My understanding was you simply need a superheavy detachment rather than an auxiliary detachment.

I hope I'm correct, because — unpopular as this opinion is — I don't like the full on knights, to me at that point the model is so big it doesn't feel like 40k anymore.
