Has anyone had any experience running an all Imperial Knight army where every knight was a freeblade?

The Freeblades were a neat idea but with terrible execution. Only the Character dude works because, surprise surprise, he has the least crippling weaknesses and not terrible bonuses.

I'd honestly advise against it, but if you want to go that route it would depend the loadout for the Knight. That one weakness about needing to charge or whatever? Obviously less crippling in a melee Knight, so just hope you roll it.

In fact I think rolling everything is the way to go. Only one weakness will be less bad compared to having two you chose, and with the bonuses they're not all terrible, so might as well stack them as much as you can?

Problem is only 1 knight per det gets abilities and burden. So either 3 aux det so max 3 knights and no cp or some are freeblades without abilities and burdens at which point it'" just voluntary nerf

What if you just had two preceptors each leading a detachment of warglaives and helverins?

That works but warglaives and helverins still aren't freeblades. Well they are but they don't get the effects from the tables so you would be better off having them as regular houses anyway. By making them freeblade(thus all freeblade knight army) you are basically giving up free rules.

Only way to have truly all knight freeblade army without giving up free rules is 3 auxiliary detachments which limits you to 3 knights and gives you no CP bar basic 3. Or you take knights normally and make them all freeblade but then only 1 per detachment gets the perks and burdens. If some don't have freeblade keyword then it's not all freeblade knight list.

You can have two in one detatchment canis rex and one other freeblade as the rule that lets you give bonuses to a freeblade does not make you choose canis rex (therea an old ymdc thread on it)

I did well at a recent tourney with a warglaive freeblade (haunted by failure exiled in shame random benefits.) In a taranis army the warglaive was gettting less out of the house due to its lower w count and I wasnt going to strat it anyway t1 i also boosted it to ld 10 (coteaz). Definitely felt better than a 6+FNP

Well that still requires you to add 3rd knight to the detachment so still either 1 freeblade without bonuses or 1 non-freeblade.
