Guys!
No mention of a new 40k game which is coming out this month (October) on all platforms.
I am a PS4 gamer and I will be getting it definitely. You can play online v other player and has heavy customise options.
Always liked Space Hulk. Played it as a tabletop back in the days and this game seems to offer plenty of strategic options.
Imo worth checking out

Saw a playthrough of it... it looked a little thin, particularly on the sound and animation side (they apparently did one attack animation per model/weapon, which will get old really fast).
It seems a fairly faithful adaptation, but then didn't go very far (or at all) beyond that. Didn't see much of a draw, really.

Hmmm thought they went ambitious and the game will be quite complex etc. Trailers do not show too much that is sure. Reviews coming out soon so we will see if it is that basic

There are several gameplay videos out, first one has been out for a over a month (as well as older preview stuff, but I doubt thats worth watching). The others are from the last week:
RPS (month old):

Some guy (genestealer campaign, worth seeing the player fight with the interface repeatedly, and watching 'dead' marines just teleport out):

Dev stream (lots of babble, training mission):

Hope the final product will be much better

One was a month old. The other two were from last week.
Sorry, but 'It was beta and hope the release will be finished by magic pixies who are programming geniuses' doesn't hold much water with me. Only in very rare cases (usually when the developers delay release for several months) does beta and PR footage not reflect a final release. Especially PR footage, which is what those were.
And usually those rare cases are carefully doctored slices that hide problems the full game is having. Not what's going on here.
(For example that Sonic game with the night werewolf segments- the demo was just the standard racing stuff)

I started playing the game.
The interface is a bit clumsy and I see no reason for the first person mode at all. You cannot plan anything in the first person. So I just stick to the isometric view mode all the time.
I guess, even with from the clunky user interface, the game plays just like Space Hulk board game. All the tactics work the same, and that is really all I need from this game.
The voiceover for the various characters is pretty amateurish, but I'm not playing the game for the story.
The story campaign is just for the Blood Angels (and Genestealers), so a bit of let down. I wanted to field the Space Wolves. The different chapters are just for the one off games, it seems.

I have the results of the last chamber: You are a horrible person. That's what it says: A horrible person... We weren't even testing for that. |
