Anyone else waiting on this kick starer?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/loudnraging/warstages-the-gothic-cathedral/comments

I would be interested in any review of this company or experiences,

At this point I am not a happy camper :(

Their previous 2 Kickstarter delivered 1-2 years late. However they did deliver everything vthey said they would and in some cases models came with additional weapons/head options or size increases that were not part of the original Kickstarter.

So expect it to take a year longer, but you end up with some small extra things that were not originally available.

Thanks for responding Blakoof.

At this point I am very upset with this company as they keep breaking their word for updates.

Likely I will never back another of their kick starters.

I am disappointed when things are late on kicksarter, however there is an issue with Kickstarter.

A lot of people that buy into a Kickstarter don't really understand what Kickstarter is, it is actually unreasonable to expect all Kickstarter to finish on time, when someone who buys in expects that they are treating a Kickstarter as a finished deal that just takes time to manufacture and ship- which is not what it is

Some Kickstarters are essentially complete when the Kickstarter are launched, these almost always deliver on time.

Most Kickstarters that are large in scope are at a very early development stage and if there are a lot of logistics in having to go to different other third parties to complete the chance of increasing time grows significantly.

No one can perfect predict how long it will take to develop a product to the envisioned quality at the start of a proposed business venture.

If a Kickstarter has a final product already to demo they have finished all of the development and just looking for capital to place a large production order, these will finish on time unless their manufacturing partner has an issue

If a Kickstarter does not have a final product to demo the chance they will complete on time is very low.

Does this excuse the delay from their anticipated schedule, not at all.

However by purchasing a buy in on a Kickstarter you are essentially investing in a small business owner and a business venture and there are risks.

As said above they deliver but deliver late (and late enough for it to be noticible even on KS where late is normal),

I've been happy with what I've had both times but some others have not (mould release on the minis has been the main issue)

they're very 'art over business' so are quite capable of redoing stuff that doesn't need to be messed with

Customer service seems to be a bit hit or miss, if you manage to get in contact with them they're great but some have tried and tried and never heard back

They also have some of the worst communication for KSer projects that actually complete and I guess do most of it via their website instead of Kickstarter for some reason.

I know this is about the cardboard stuff but Ed from Trollforge did their spincasting and now that Trollforge is no more wonder what will happen with this line? I guess just find someone else. Still, glad they don't have a 3rd minis kickstarter under way.

Interesting that you asked today if there has been any update...because there has, indeed, been an update today.

Trollforged said: Our casting services will still be offered by Nick Hanger through his new company Metal Oak Casting Studios so I'd imagine that's where they'll go

Well, they also delivered faulty products. With faulty I mean greasy miniatures that could not be painted. Like with a full stop. They never accepted that the fault was on their side.

Bye the way: I got kicked out of the warstages kickstarter. Because I flamed too much.

So just a hint for everyone who wants out: Keep on going and they might remove you and give you the money back. I am kind of sad that I cannot comment on the KS page anymore though :(

In regards to their non-KS-page-communication. They CANNOT remove comments on the KS page. They can do that on their own page. That is the big reason for them not really updating anything anymore. They're trying to remove all the negativity and censor everyone.

I was disappointed that the update didn't include workflow once
Though the rest of it more than made up for it. Turns out that its that backers fault once again, that they are working non-stop really hard on things... though they have just been on holiday (no pics this time though). But you don't realise how great what you are getting really is!!!!!!!! because we haven't delivered it yet. They really managed to hit all the right notes once again its almost a parody.

So the project is delayed at least until next March (read July).

I do the same thing I do with almost every KS - ignore it until it shows up. I've been part of RH's last two Kickstarters, and like every other KS I've been part of (other than Christopher West's maps), they've been very late.

One day the stuff just shows up, and that's nice. Never bothers me.
