Was looking at getting into Goblin's for AoS. Am a current 40k player and really haven't played any AoS, only watched a few battle reports. I know that right now, SpiderClan and MoonClat goblins are separate though they can be allied together (I think?). I heard a couple of sources mention they could quite possibly have a new book coming out soon along with new models which would essentially unify SC and MC gobbo's. Is there any evidence currently that indicates this? What would your approach be if your were getting into Goblins? I'm only semi competitive - I like have a chance when I come to the table, but I find some narrative elements and models really fun. I really do like the Fungal Cave shaman model and I also really like the huge spider with the mounted grots. I don't mind running some basic orcs for a meatshield and can see myself running a giant or some trolls along with a couple of rock throwers or something. Whats everyones thoughts?

I have a Night Goblin army for 9th Age. It consists mainly of three regiments of 30 Goblins each and a few support units like squig herders and hoppers. You should give the notion some thought of building an unit base for your goblins because you donĀ“t want to move each and every model on his own.

My advice? Start picking up plastic moonclan/spiderfang goblins and character models you like, play some small games (1000 pts) to get the hang of things. Then wait for them to get a battletome. I would bet money there will be some sort of grot battletome in the next six months.

Sidenote: do not get invested in gitmob grots as they could very well be squatted.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Pretty much this. I think at best, a lot of the legacy units like gitmob grots, troggoths and general greenskinz will be consolidated together ala Beasts of Chaos. At worst, they'll be effectively replaced by Grotbag Scuttlers, which are sky-pirate grots which also sound awesome.

Moonclan is definitely going to get its own battletome, with (hopefully!) lots of plastic squigs. I can see Spiderfang grots getting similar treatment.

I would bet on a consolidation of grots into a single battletome like beasts, myself.
