Is there any way to give a Primaris Captain a chainsword?

As is the answer is no. You can model it on them, but there is not a single way to give them one rule wise. Count as is your only way to go.

Blood angel Sgt ones can have them. I think they look good with them and don’t think my mates would mind me using it but we are a very casual group.

As far as sergeants go DW and Space Wolves can also take chainswords on intercessor sergeants.

Oh woah now man IDK about that. Giving your captain a chainsword for one whole free s4 ap- attack instead of paying four points for a power sword suuuure is game breaking.

Just a FYI intercessor Sargents can take one in kill team

I would guess that the point of the question is not to actually get a chainsword on the captain, but to have one to swap for the relic version (which would also be hardly game-breaking).

Quanar is right. Of course I want to use the relic. But you confirmed my fears. I hadn´t found any way to get it (legally) either. I don´t want to give my models weapons they can´t use, even if it would look awesome-balls. Well, thanks guys!
