I recently came into ownership of a Baneblade. Unfortunately I do not collect Imperial Guard, but I do collect Orks. I figure I could make a baneblade that has been looted by the Orks for a fun project. I also want something that I could legally use in a game if the occasion arises. Would a baneblade be too big to play as a battlewagon?

Nope, it's fine. My own one made from a Baneblade, christened "Fundatrukk" has taken to the field many times in the past.

If anything you're kinda putting yourself at a disadvantage as you can't hide it as easily.

Might be worth looking at some of the Forgeworld stuff as well as it's probably Battlefortress size.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

That's fine with me, I'm mostly going for looks rather than functionality. Maybe that's why I lose so much...

I just want to make sure they're at least similar in size.

Unfortunately I don't think the battle-fortress was given rules for 8th edition yet. There is the FW killtank and that looks quite similar in size to a baneblade and would be a good excuse to cover the baneblade with more guns.

Yeah, I just looked through Index Xenos.. there's rules for the Gargantuan Squiggoth, but no Battlefortress.. not even Killtanks..

No killtank either? Damn, the Orks really need a new tank.

Huey Lewis sympathizes with you.

Baneblade battlewagons are a treat to see on the table, and I encourage you to do a P&M blog on the project.

The one piece of advice I have is to keep it Orky. Without the appropriate jagged armor and guns, it can really ruin the appearance of an army.

The Kill Tank is on pg 31 of Imperial Armour: xenos. So I'd say build it to your heart's content and run it as whichever you prefer.

After the big FAQ last year they added stuff to the forgeworld book.

Has death roller battle fortress and kill tank on there.

Any clue where the point costs are for them? I'd love the option of fielding my Firestorm..

There are no points for them.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

Now I feel like an idiot. I've looked at this pdf twice before and closed it after seeing the two pages of simple adjustments. I did not realize there datasheets at the end.

I think the best compromise will be to model the tank as a battlefortress, but in such a way that I could also run it as a battlewagon. We'll assume half the guns don't work when it's a battlewagon.

Not even close to being same size so in some ways you will be at disadvantage, at others you might be called out as modeling for advantage. Especially if you go for new 32mm bases and unload 20 boyz from that it's going to be big help so TFG's could complain there.
