Hi all, as said I'm looking at getting back into the game very very casually with a friend of mine, wanted to see if what I owned is a viable enough list. Not really interested in buying much more, especially Primaris, but what would you say with this? I own it all WYSIWYG, but is it viable/actually legal?

Legal, but a suggestion. Make the chaplain your warlord. Sammael's trait is useless for a bike based army, as you already auto advance 6" and rerolling charges won't be as big a deal for a highly mobile army. Brilliant strategist is good, but not as much since the FAQ, but fury of the lion would be great or even huntsman, as he could then snipe characters. Also, I'd suggest chainswords on the bikes over pistols. They'd be much more useful if you're in melee, the extra attack will synergize much better than the single pistol shot. You could have 20 attacks at S5 rerolling fails. But rule of cool at the end of the day. Do what you think is cool.

PS. Sorry, I know they're WYSIWYG, but it would be an easy proxy.

I would try to make some changes if you can. The Chaplain is just not good synergy for the RW as he helps them in combat, you really don't have combat troops. A talonmaster is so much better and is a great force multiplier for RW.
I would also drop the Vanguard, you are putting a lot into those characters and they won't get their points back.
I prefer Dark Talon over Nephilim, it's a great fighter.
I'd also get your Attack Bikes out of the sqds as they suffer heavily when moving.

Personally I would drop the jetfighter, chaplain, and champion because they do little for the synergy of your army. Grab 3 barebones scout squads to make it a battalion. Drop both the ravenwing bikers and replace them with a single 10 man black knights squad. Throw in a librarian on a bike and a talonmaster.

With this you'll essentially have a biker deathstar with the CP's to put "weapons from the dark age" and "speed of the raven" to good use. If you don't get first turn use the new cover strategem to give your bikers a 2+ save on top of their T5 and -1 to hit because of darkshroud.

Use the scouts to hang onto backfield objectives. Rush the bikers up and plasma everything that needs to die. Don't be afraid to get into meelee with the black knights either. If you need to take an objective, simply split off a character as needed. The beauty of it is that if this turns out to be too competitive for you, just don't use the strategems and you won't be nearly as effective.

Good news about playing Ravening is that pretty much all of the lists could be considered "friendly", they are not competitive at all. If going for a reasonable 1500pt list, I'd opt for something like..

Sammael on corvex (sableclaw is better, but let's just assume you have the bike version) 183
Talonmaster 188
Librarian, force sword, SB 131
8 Black Knights 368
4 bikes, 2 melta guns, power maul 146
4 bikes, 2 melta guns, power maul 146
darkshroud, heavy bolter 138
Dark Talon 200

Downside is that this only yields 4 Command Points, but is pure Ravenwing. If you want more Command Points, do as other poster suggested and get 3 units of scouts. Or, to just bump to 5 Command Points for now, you could change above list to..

Sammael on corvex (sableclaw is better, but let's just assume you have the bike version) 183
Talonmaster 188
Librarian, force sword, SB 131
6 Black Knights 276
3 bikes, 2 melta guns 115
4 bikes, 2 plasma guns, SB, power maul 140
Attack Bike, MM 64
Attack Bike, MM 64
Darkshroud, heavy bolter 138
Dark Talon 200

Attack Bikes aren't great, but they do give you some options to cover objectives cheaply if want pure Ravenwing.

Here is a report of a list I used in a slow grow league using pure Ravening (although this is 2000pts)

and another at 1500pts (although list was not optimal and pre-codex)
