Hi guys,
Looking into getting a gaming table. I have already looked at the option of 2 6x2,5' from DYI/amazon as an option but the place I hace that whole extra feet would not fit properly. and are harder for me to store.
My best option is one of the following.
https://www.gamemat.eu/our-products/folding-board/6-x4-g-board-portable-gaming-area/en/
https://www.urbanmatz.com/p/237/6-x4-folding-table
Any feedbacck on any of them? Which one is sturdier? Want to make sure it does not come down while playing if someone leans (not sits) on it.
All the help appreciated. Thanks.

If he's got some space issues it's very likely he needs folding/storing tables. I know the companies above have good reputations, but I can't see how the tables shown are sturdy enough to not wobble with a whack during gameplay. I've heard good things, but only on podcasts who are doing interviews etc...so they're mostly biased.

I made mine from plywood and dimensional lumber and it comes apart into two pieces for storage. I think I built the entire thing for less than $50.

There are currently 2 gaming tables up on Kickstarter. The Jasper looks like it would be a good choice, being a 2nd gen table incorporating lessons learned with from the Duchess.

my current table is actually 4 pieces that lock together, 4- 4 foot by 2 foot work tables in the garage on casters. I butt them together and throw on a game mat. each player has 1 foot by 4 foot space on either end as a staging area for reserves and/or casualties, plus a cup holder for beer and usb ports for charging devices. I have actually debted making smaller fold up 2x4 foot tables though that can double as tv trays in a living room or side tables for other rooms that voltron together for a lighter indoor table (my garage has air conditioning so less needed, but nice to have) )

The last thing you want to do is buy a table from any kind of gaming website or store. They are massively inflated in price. These tables aren't made by them, they are just sourced wholesale and then quadrupled in price.
Check out B&Q, Painting and Decorating shops and camping outlets. I bought camping tables from Decathlon very similar to the ones you have linked to above for £25.

Hi, unfortunately yes. I leave in a flat so no real working surface, plus I don't have nor the tools nor the skills.
These were my first option, but I then realised that being 6x2,5 I end up with a 6x5 surface which is too much, as that extra foot means players might be tight. getting just one and adding the 3 2'x4' could be an option but I wonder if with all the hanging they would jiggle too much as they are 1,5' longer than the table. (also not sure wife would be happy about storing that much stuff.

I have checked them and have not been able to find these 6x4 folding tables anywhere. I have seen many other, but not specifically the 6x4 ones so I only have to store one.

Thanks a lot. This type of feedback is what I'm after. I have listened to reviews, and they all say they are enough to play but to be carefull that they are not sturdy, so while they like them, I think they are being honest. It's true that no one tries whacking it a bit.
Any one has player or owns one of these and can give some feedback.

A friend from our group is going to buy a similar table so I'm interested to hear about their durability etc. We are not in the business of whacking our table about so I'm not worried if it nudges or wobbles a little if you bump into it.
Actually I might buy one myself in the future once we move into a bigger flat.
Building something similar is just out of the question since I lack the skill and the time required. Also I doubt I could ever build something that folds into such convenient size.

I posted this in another topic but I think relates:
"If you a have a little space in your apartment (like maybe behind a couch or something, against a wall etc) have you thought about a fold out ping pong table (table tennis table). That's what I have (granted in my garage). It is on wheels and when folded up is 5ft long and 2ft wide (4ft high), when folded out the playing surface is 8ftx5ft. Enough space for a 6x4 mat (I use mats from gamemat.eu) and space on the side for dead models, books, dice etc. It folds out pretty big so depends on the space you have. Bonus is you can play ping pong "
The stability is fine (we have never had a problem, it is pretty sturdy. Steel frame good flat surface etc) think it cost me $100-$150 AU. As said above i just use the mouse type mat material gaming mats from gamemat.eu and I use various terrain from multiple companies (I put a large black table cloth down first to cover the entire table, then the game mat on top so the extra areas still look more uniform than the bare ping pong table).
Edit:
It was ages ago but I think this is the one I bought:
https://www.bigw.com.au/product/full-size-table-tennis-table/p/442451/
If something similar in the UK, I would suggest that.

A ping pong table is just absolutely massive and it's not really an attractive element in your living room... In a garage sure, why not.
Compared to the suitcase-size which can be tucked under a bed or into a wardrobe there's really no contest if you want something that fits into an apartment.

Could put 3 120x60 centimetres (48x24 inches) planks on top of your diner table (can screw some wood under to stop them against the table if you're worried they would move) or, if you don't have one or don't want to use it, get 4 trestles to put them on (it's what I use, nothing bad happened in 15 years).
3 planks can be tucked anywhere, the trestles take a bit more space though.
I have no experience with these folding tables though.

From the original post, I expect a dinner table is not an option. When I was in a flat, the lounge had enough room for a sofa and telly stand, getting moved aside when gaming happened.
Adding planks to a fold-out table might be the best idea, as 2x fold-outs with planks can be secured to be very stable.
I'd start looking in Hobbycraft or similar, but camping tables might be better.

Ping Pong tables are 5' x 9', and they have a huge gutter in the middle. Just say no.
It's possible to mount the legs from a folding table under a 4' x 6' gaming surface.

you could always get two or four folding saw horses and a plywood cut to 6x4. the benefit being it should be cheap and easy to store.

For games at home, I have two 3x2.5 folding tables I got from a hardware store.
Push them together and I have a 6x5 table that a gamemat covers quite nicely. Leaves room for both players on either end for models, dice etc.
Works well and folds up against a wall in the garage out of the way when not in use. Cost me $30 or so for the pair.

Then if you want to be fancy you can just throw a gaming mat on top and boom, you have the same table most gaming stores do.

I use 3 of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Utility-Adjustable-Portable-Furniture-Multipurpose/dp/B07H1Q3GCS/ref=sr_1_8?s=outdoor-recreation&ie=UTF8&qid=1539752783&sr=1-8&keywords=portable+2x4+table
Not the cheapest option but having three of them is by far the most compact, lightweight, flexible solution I could find. You can set up one table for a game of KT, two tables for a 4x4 board, and three tables for 6x4. Each table weighs just 10 lbs and collapses into a thin 2x2 block when not in use.

Do you mean two 6x2.5 tables or two 3x5 tables? You'd need four 3x2.5 tables to do what you suggest.

That's the kind of review you can trust
Personally, I have two 3'x4' chipboard shelves on top of an old dining table, easy to break down and store, solid enough not to move around- I think it was £20 from B & Q

I actually prefer the idea of two 2.5' x 6' tables. I can get two 2.5' x 6' folding tables (not only the legs fold but so does the table in the middle) from Walmart for around $65USD (give or take a few dollars). Push two of those together and throw a 6' x 4' gaming mat on top of it, and you got yourself a table. But, you are right... there is an extra foot as the two tables together would be 6' x 5'. The plus side to having the extra 6" on both sides are many. Players can place models that are in reserve in this 6" space. They can place models that have died in this space. They can also place their codices, tablets, phones (wherever their get their rule data) in this space.... and it never gets in the way of the actual field of battle. SG

The problem with 5' deep tables is that reaching across the board is a pain, compared to a 4' deep table. Everything I need to touch should be comfortably within arm's reach through end of Turn 2; if have to get off my stool or out of my chair before Turn 4, something is very wrong.
Honestly, more games should be sized and played on 3'x5' kitchen tables.

Sorry, I meant two 6x2.5 tables - clearly it was too early in the morning for me to math.
