I have a question about allies and army bonuses.

Let's say I have Rivendell and Lothlorien warbands. They are historical allies.

Does the Rivendell warband get it's Army bonus and the Lothlorien warband get it's Army bonus? Or does only the Warband from which I select the Army leader get its army bonus?

On page 237 of the Armies Rulebook it states, under Historical Allies: "Historical Allies are allowed to keep all of the Army Bonuses even though the force is selected from more than one army list"

The pluralizing of Army Bonuses suggests to me that Rivendell would get its Army Bonus and Lothlorien would get its Army bonus, even if, for example, I chose Elrond as my Army Leader (Rivendell).

They are Historical Allies so each warband gets it's respective bonus, no matter who your leader is.

Army Bonuses apply to the models in the Army List.

models chosen from the Lothlorien army list would get the Lothlorien army bonus, models from the Rivendell army list would get the Rivendell army bonus, but it would not be combined (models chosen from Rivendell army list would not get Lothlorien army bonus).

" - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

All the army bonuses off the top of my head reference specific model keywords anyway; even if they could get each others bonuses in the first place the Rivendell models and the Lothlorien models in the army wouldn't get each others' bonuses because the Rivendell army bonus says "Rivendell models..." and the Lothlorien army bonus says "Lothlorien models...".

(Which is mildly annoying because rules-as-written Iron Hills Dwarves taken in Erebor Reclaimed are still Iron Hills models, not Erebor models, and won't benefit from the "Du Bekar!" bit of the army bonus.)

One that would affect everything if it worked that way is the Ranger benefit, as it's "all models in this army". Gotta admit, Warriors of the Dead with Woodland Creature would make sense

I mainly play 30k, but am still fairly active with 40k. I play Warcry, Arena Rex, Middle-Earth, Blood Bowl, Batman, Star Wars Legion as well
