Just looking to clarify they don't exist right?, an inquisition detachment cannot take any dedicated transports because there are no transports that have the [inquisition] faction, this is not me saying they cannot board any transport the rule they have allows them to but that doesn't get around detachment restrictions does it?

I keep seeing these army lists with a vanguard detachment -inquisitor, 3 acolyte units, 2 taurox prime, to make this legal wouldn't the army have to include an astra militarum/scion detachment and buy the transports through that detachment?, the same for any rhinos, land raiders etc they would wish to party bus on?

For Matched Play, you are correct. Battle Brothers prevents you from putting any dedicated Transports in an Inquisition Detachment.

Yup, Inquisition; have no dedicated transport options ..
Their unique land raider is heavy support.
People keep getting this wrong ... thinking that the authority of the acquisition rule allows them to take any transport from an imperial codex.... but it does not, It just allows them to embark on any factions transport regardless of keyword.
To take a transport they need to buy it in another detachment which also has enough troop choices to make the choice legal.

At a recent event a player turned up with 5 assault cannon razorbacks full of Inquisitorial acolytes with plasma / melta’s …. This was borderline legal when you were able to take “Imperium detachments but you lost the 3 CP for being battleforged as you have no space marine troops or hq’s.

Also note that 'Authority of the Inquisition' only allows you to ignore the faction keyword when it comes to embarking on a transport. Fore example this ability would not allow them to embark on a Repulsor, because it does not override the PRIMARIS keyword as it's not a faction keyword.

oh that may bode very poorly for me ... as Terrax's specify Skitarri and Skitarri is no longer a faction.

Looking at the datasheet on the Forge World website, the Terrax-pattern Termite Assault Drill makes no mention of the Skitarii keyword.

If you include it in an Adeptus Mechanicus detachment, its Transport rule is " This model can transport 12 Secutarii Infantry or <Forge World> Infantry models. It cannot transport Belisarius Cawl, Kataphron Breacher or Kataphron Destroyer models. "

So, models using the Authority of the Inquisition rule can ignore the <Forge World> faction keyword, as long as they're still Infantry.

If you want to take the piss somewhat, the Space Marine version cannot transport Jump Pack, Terminator, Centurion, Wulfen or Primaris models, whereas the Adeptus Mechanicus version has no such restriction; so an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor in Terminator armour can get into an Adeptus Mechanicus Termite, but not a Space Marine one.

(unless that's addressed in the FAQ)

Agreed that a Terminator =][= can ride in an AdMech Termite. I'd be wary of that as you very may well see an Errata changing it to match the SM version.

Also, poor Belisarius. He has to walk everywhere. Good thing he has so many legs.
