If you're just relearning the game dont worry about competition etc- just build a bunch of lists that utilise all of your models and play the game.
Try something like the above poster has recommended, then try something more shooty shooty, try an armour heavy list, try an infantry heavy list, try a balanced list.
Have fun with it and dont try chasing the "meta"- otherwise you'll end up with the latest netlist army thats no fun to play with and no fun to play against.
I understand. I literally do mean *just* relooking into the hobby. I don't understand how to build an army list yet. To me, an army list is/was 1
HQ, 2 Troops, then you filled out your force org with up to 1 more
HQ, 4 more troops, 3 elites, 3 fast attack, and 3 heavy support slots. Rather than me learning how to build an army, then trying to build an army with those models, I'm trying to walk backwards into understanding here - where I'm presented with an army made from those models, which I can then research to understand how it comprises how armies are built in 8th edition.
I don't need someone to make me a
WAAC army out of those models, I need someone to build a legal army out of it for me to use as a focal point of education because I no longer understand force organization requirements.
