Spoiler:

So inside the spoiler is a simple 3d printed dice tower that I did a 20 minute job painting, and I'm generally happy with it. So much better than my normal cardboard cutouts.

-PROBLEM-
So I use it for D&D, and depending on the size and sides of dice, it seems like between 1 of 10 to 1 of 20 die rolls comes out cocked. It happened on the first game I played with it, just last night. Trying to take out the black dragon wyrmling that was one of the final encounters for the night, the die came up as either like a 19 or a 2. And the DM, who knows I don't try to cheat or game the system, made some jokes about how convenient that is, and I apologized and told him I'd roll on the table for the rest of the game. I like my dice tower. Want to keep using it...

SO! What do you experienced hobbyists recommend I use to fill in the gaps? on the floor. I know I probably need to use some Citadel Lahmian Medium to keep whatever product from being glossy.

Clear resin or water effects should flatten it out nicely

1) That's dope, you should be proud.
2) I'll second the water effects recommend. You need to "flatten out" the landing pad. Swampy water would fit the theme while keeping the cool details.

Ether water effect or grout it with a dirt color and dust up the bottom.

Alternatively you could 3d print a wooden floor and glue it on top of it. (just make sure the details are enough that it still will be flat.

Edit: also that is pretty slick.

Thanks so much! I have a number of craft stores near me. should be able to get some water effect without too much difficulty. Think my local Hobbytown carries Realistic Water.

If you have access to a 3d printer, you can print your own dice tower, and make it look way cooler than mine!

Before you do anything I'd check that your GM and gaming group are happy with you using it.
Ensure that the GM's "jokes" weren't kindly disguised hints that maybe you should just roll on the table.
Whilst dice towers are a fun and fair way to roll they are also bulky, noisy, slow and I'd say rather immersion breaking.
Just my two cents.

Everyone: No.

Noisy can be dealt with - I lined the platforms inside mine with foam.

Might be a little tricky with this particular design, though. Although I almost want to make one with the outside tube replaced with just a railing around the outside of the staircase...

I only use it for adventure league games with my static group Adventure league is not very immersive to begin with.
And if someone gets upset at the sound of dice, then D&D probably isnt for them. There's other roleplaying systems that eschew dice altogether.
But to be honest, if they were upset by the noise, then I would probably just find a different group. Its not that I'd rather roll in my tower than play with them. If someone is the type of person to get upset at the sound of a (not very noisy at all) dice tower, then they probably aren't the kind of person I want to play games with...

I am honestly confused as to how a dice tower can be "immersion breaking" in a way that rolling dice on the table isn't. Are you worried about breaking the illusion that you're a bunch of people playing a dice game at a table if the dice don't land on the table?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Dice bouncing into models and breaking bits off, this happened to the SoB I borrowed from my local GW

I’d defiantly use a dice tower for this and it’s easier for smaller hands too, my 6yr old can’t roll 30 dice
