They are probably the least expensive models in the Nighthaunt line, but I'm curious if they are even worth the money to those who play Nighthaunt.

Thanks in advance!

Disclaimer: I don’t play Nighthaunt, so keep that in mind when reading below.

They are a nice utility unit in how they can unbind spells, only a few characters in a pure Nighthaunt army can unbind if memory serves. Lady Olynder, The Grimhailer and the Guardian of Souls.

Combat-wise, they need special circumstances to reach their full potential. Sucessfully unbind a spell(18 inches) and dispel an Endless Spell(6 inches) is a big ask and then that buff is only temporary and the latter kills some Myrmourn. Their rend -2 is pretty good at face value(for Nighthaunt) but its only one attack at base level. Maybe good for harrassing loners and warmachines I suppose.

Defensively, 1 wound models at a max unit of 12 will melt pretty quick. Even with a 4+ Ethereal.

The Chainghast’s ranged weapons are almost as good as their buffed attacks, barring the D3 damage of the Myrmourn. Granted, you can’t take alot of them either, but they seem to have more possibilities with a 15 inch range, despite being 2 inches slower.

I think the Myrmourn Banshees may have a place in a Nighthaunt army, but only because of the unbind. And if you take them for that reason, keep them out of combat until the magic threat is neutralized.

But thats just my take. I’ll gladly concede if a regular Nighthaunt player says otherwise. Try them and find out my dude!

For me myrmourn banshees are the best dmg unit for nighthaunt !
You can dispell your endless and whit knight of shroud they have +2 attack ... If you play vampire lord +3 atk ( 12 banshees =36 atk 4+ 3+ d3 ) and if you play sport torment and guardian of souls you can reroll 1 to hit and to wound ... This unit its amazing !

Solid unit, kind of OP at 12-man due to horde unit discount. Thing is chainrasps and grimghasts are already so powerful banshees get overshadowed.

Ya, that's why I didn't rate them very high. Aside from the unbind, there are other units that do the job better in their own fashion.

They are super solid... no doubt there.

A unit of 12 is a very good option in a NH army and can function well on it's own. If it uses it's deepstrike early on near enemy wizards, the opponent almost has to respond to them.

They are also a very solid option in a LoN army as an allied unit... Possibly more so because of the synergy with the vampire lord and cheeky endless spell eating.

LoN can only ally FEC.

Myrmourn are very good, but you want to take at least 8, though you do get a discount if you take 12. They are one of the best units for using the Nighthaunt deployment rule, and dropping them near an enemy wizard. Most people do not want to be in close combat with them. Even with just 1 attack, a 3+ to wound with -2 rend and d3 damage is no joke, and can cause a surprising amount of damage if you roll just a little above average.

Honestly, they are cheap enough that I would suggest just buying a few boxes and trying them out. They are super easy to assemble and paint, and are excellent looking models no matter what!

That is just plain not true...
Grand host of Nagash: can ally FEC and NH
Legion of Sacrament: can ally FEC and NH
Legion of Blood: can ally FEC and NH
Legion of Night: can ally FEC and NH
Soulblight: can ally Deadwalkers, deathlords, deathmages, Deathrattle and NH.

So quite literally every single allegiance in LoN can take NH (and thus myrmourn banshees) as allies. The nighthaunt themselves are limited to allying with soulblight and deathlords though.
