Who we are?

Archon Studio is a successful start-up company founded in 2012 in Poland. It's all about tabletop games and miniatures.

We hire a talented team of concept artists, Graphic designers, 3D sculptors and game designers for our models and games.

95% of production is done in-house from our base in Poland, this includes: 3D sculpting and printing, model casting, paper components printing, packaging and shipping. All is done in Poland, not outsourced to China. Our Polish based Factory is the worlds largest resin-miniature manufacturing facility, and second to Games Workshop for HIPS-based miniatures (plastic injection) in EU.

This is a preview so hasn't launched yet and is subject to change

Note: This is being run by Archon who are run by the same folk that run Prodos who have had major problems fulfilling the AvP kickstarter, however as Archon their fulfilment record is much better with several successful completed boardgame projects. Pledgers beware, kickstarter is not a store and all that jazz

Magnets are cool, but modular terrain you make yourself and glue is way more stable.

Also youd have to be cheaper then GWs new modular terrain, don't know the prices but im guessing you wont be...

Intriguing! Very cool.

By the way, got some other shots of that tank?

Watching the video, the pieces seem stable enough for most purposes. Plus, magnetic pieces would make for some neat-o destructible terrain.

All those minis are from their "Empire of Men" project:

Assuming it is HIPS when it arrives you should be able to just glue it together if you've no interest in magnets and taking it apart again

My thoughts exactly, and it’s not as if “Archon” isn’t free of problems either.

Have you got any more on that ? I had thought Archon's projects were running smoothly (well as smoothly as any KS)

I think one or two of their KS projects were botched to some degree, along with the retail “space crusade” game they did. I don’t know details, just what I remember reading on Dakka. I’m sure someone else will chime in.

But yes, they seem to be successful under their new name. I still wouldn’t support them though.

Looks neat, but way, way too late. By the time the KS is launched, funded and fulfills you're probably looking at over a year, and GW is already selling modular plastic terrain that's easily magnetize-able. All they're doing is saving you the trouble of drilling holes.

Also, given that the Apse add on is 20 USD it doesn't suggest that their terrain is going to be significantly cheaper than GW terrain, even at KS prices, and of course you get to add in shipping.

OTOH, if you want terrain variety, this looks like a good option. If they had launched this 2 years ago I'd have been all over it, but as it is I have 2 boxes of Kill Team and 3 Kill Zone boxes. If the Christmas bundle for Sector Imperialis is a decent savings I'll throw in for that and I'll pretty much be set for gothic terrain.

Archon is the same staff as Prodos. Archon was pretty much formed so that they could transfer the assets of Prodos to another company, while leaving the liabilities (namely KS rewards owed to remaining backers) behind.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

It's a real shame it's such a shady company doing this, because it looks to add a huge amount of badly needed variety to the GW plastic terrain.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

Well, you'll have to fill those giant holes with something.

Looks nice but two things that bugger me about: a) how much board those sets would cover(8th ed 40k needs a LOT of terrain) b) reputation of this company...would not like "pay now, wait for year" kind of hell.

Ironically better 40k suited terrain than GW's. GW forgets their own TLOS idiocy making their terrain useless. These seems to have enough solid walls to be useful.

Will magnets be included?

I'm more interested in the jungle lizard ruins than the gothic stuff. Have enough stuff from GW at this point.

Can't say the same for houses for my highlords.

Archon has come through on enough of my pledges and dealt with errors in my orders reliably enough I feel comfortable backing this.

I think I've received 4 out of 6 pledges from them now, with the missing two still in production (Chronicle X and the Vanguard of War expansion if anyone cares).

Hopefully the 49 dollar pledge will be at least enough for a kill team or KOW Vanguard board.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Kind of weird the 4x pledge is slightly worse deal than getting a 3x and 1x. Looks like you can cover a lot of table for $99 though.

with 3x + 1X you only get 2 sets of extras ($30 value) and 1 apse ($25 value)

With the 4X pledge which costs $11 more than the above you also get 3 sets of extras ($45 value) & 2 apses ($50 value) so save an extra $$29

also worth noting that despite KS asking for your location and indicating shipping is free it's not as at the bottom of the campaign page

so remember to factor it into your calculations

Same here. Loving the Aztec ruins.

Will keep an eye on the KS and see how it evolves and if the stretch goals add cool bits.

Now here's an interesting development-

Every 49 dollar pledge gets a free sprue of space vampires when they get enough hits on their social media pages. Not a bad deal.

THESE WILL BE PLASTIC AS WELL.
I already asked if we'll get multiples if we have a pledge that offers multiple sets.

I wonder if the Nagas will show up in some form as well...

HIPs is generally understood to mean 'plastic' (or at least what most would consider 'real plastic' in terms of wargaming miniatures) - so...when you say that, do you mean that you think that the Star Vampires will be "PVC"?

It looks like you get a good deal more here than w GW's Sector Imperialis Killzone, which is their best value. In general, I think GW's imperialis stuff is grossly overpriced compared to their other terrain. Compare the starter pledge to GW's Administratum, which is also $50. GW's is basically an "L" and a small piece of scatter, which you could more than replicate with this. The short walls look to be about 4" long and 2.4" high, w the tall pieces around 4" long and 5" high, and you get 8 tall and 13 short pieces. If anyone has GW measurements we could be more exact, but I'm lazy.

I think this looks good, but I don't know if I'd use the magnets. might be easier to just glue together what you want. I like the idea of modular mayan temples. Can't afford it though :(

Whoah. Thanks for the heads-up. Can't believe how some folks waited FIVE YEARS for their kickstarter items... and many got nothing.
