Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Issue 11 of Conquest are three easy to build Primaris Aggressors. These are the mandatory flamethrower versions with no option to swap out for bolters.

I am alright with that because I like flamers, have enough bolter armed Primaris all over the place and want something different. Besides Firebats are cool.

RRP is £20, and we will get the for £8 in just over two weeks time, and only then.

My question for Dakka today is how many Aggressors do I need? I will get three with my subscription, I am either thinking of pre-ordering one extra issue to make either a squad of three or two squads of six, or buying three extra issues to boost that to two squads of five. I may or may not be deploying these from grav tanks in the future.

So what will it be: one extra issue, or three extra issues?

Or am I really missing out on something and need more. I don't know, I don't play Primaris, yet. But if the Dakka 40K tactics cadre doesn't know, nobody does.

Flamethrower Aggressors have an extremely niche role compared to their BRRRRRRRRRRRT-storm gauntlet counterparts. How you play them largely depends on your Chapter Tactics, or whether you're going Deathwatch.

I don't want to put you off - but unfortunately the Firebat pattern doesn't get the best reviews even though I agree with you that the concept is cool.

The range is a problem. Okay you can run/drive up in a Repulsor and jump out - but its highly unlikely anyone will ever move/stick around in 8" so you can get the double shooting ability off. The overwatch sounds good - except you can't fire if they charge from outside 8" - and given no one wants to take 4D6 auto hits to the face per model, they are almost always going to do that.

I think they (and pretty much all flamer weapons tbh) would be a lot better if they got 12" range or at the very least some ability like "wall of flame, this weapon may always be used in overwatch regardless of charge distance".

I wish they were good, they aren't. The dakka version is easily superior and costs the same. I hope they address this in CA, the flamer versions at least need to be significantly cheaper if they're just worse.

So I will buy one extra issue for a squad of five or two minimum squads of three. I could convert to gauntlets but there is no shortage of bolter weaponry in a pure primaris army.

I am going to be doing Crimson Fists, from what little i know about that they synergise with more bolters. Never mind I am not here to minimax, I want some flamer marines, besides these will look cool with both gauntlets painted red.

The intro set primaris assault marines have bolters, I can get my bolter fix there, if 25 Intercessors are not enough..

Does the above seem logical to you. I am prepping a primaris Crimson Fist army, but I havent got one yet, or know how it works. I am going very much blind into this, and want a themeed army and have chosen my chapter, those are fixed, composition will vary as I learn more.
