Had a friendly 1500pt Tourney yesterday with 10 people. We were told not to bring spam lists, I brought my Dark Eldar and Eldar list.

Eldar Aloitoc Battallion

Farseer - Guide and Fortune
Warlock - Protect/Jinx

3 - 5 man Rangers squads

2 Fireprisms with Spirit Stones

5 Reapers and a Exarch

Dark Eldar Spearhead - Black Heart

Archon with Muse and whatever the other one was so I could get a command points back and reroll wounds of 1

3 Ravagers with Dissies

Razorwing Fighter 2 lances, missles and Splinter cannon

So this list is part of my normal list and I am familiar with my army and think I play it well!
Tourney was Maelstorm cards and bonus points per mission
Tourney scored total Maelstorm points and then secondary was the bonus points

Mission one
Deployment: Search and Destroy
6 objectives players placed
Draw 6 cards and once their all done then draw 5, then 4 and so on. You can spend 1 cmd pt to discard at least 3 cards.
Bonus Objectives: Slay the warlord, Table quarters at the end of the game, who has more, and if you hold 4 objectives at the end of a turn 1 pt

Opponent was a primaris Black Templars
Chapter Master
Champion
3 units of Primaris marines
Razorback with assult cannons
Hellblasters
Predator - 3 las cannons
Dreadnaught - Assult cannon
Bike unit (5) with attack bike Plasma

I let him place first objective and that way I picked side. He won roll off and I did not try to seize.

Round 1
Turn 1
Black Templar
He moved up and shot and killed one ranger. I made my front unit of rangers only hit on 6's and everything else was either out of range or had a negative to hit, I also rolled well on saves. He scored 1 pt.

Eldar/DE
I moved everything around to get best shots, cast all my powers on my reapers, then pretty much killed half the army. Primaris vs Dissies with reroll 1's on to hit and wound is just not fair. I scored every card but one and several were for mutliple points, like casting powers, killing units and holding more than one objective. Complete luck on the draw and the last card was for morale which he was not going to fail. SOOO.. paid the point to get rid of it. Scored 8 pts.

Turn 2
Black Templar
He shuffled some back field units but both tanks the dread and bikes were dead after the first round of shooting.
Shot and killed a unit of Rangers and injured a Ravager for 3 pts.
He earned 1 pt.

Eldar/DE
I moved to all 4 objectives and killed everything but his chapter master. Again I scored every card but 1 and paid the point to discard that one.
Socre 4 pts

Turn 3
Black Templar
With only his Chapter master left we joked some and he scored one point. He had conceded the game through the 2nd turn. ( I was rolling hot!!)

Eldar/DE
Killed the Chapter master with Smites from my Farseer and Warlock
scored 5 more points an scored all the bonus points.

Final
Eldar/DE 17 Mission points and 4 bonus points. Chris was a great opponent and his cards did not help him as he drew some crap stuff

I was the top point leader in both categories and expected my next opponent to have done well too, so a good army and player was expected.

Round 2
6 objectives Spearhead deployment draw three cards and each turn draw back to 3
Vs Orks

Jim had a pretty epic Ork army, I will try to get it right but he had some new units and all of his stuff was uber converted, would make any Ork player happy! Plus the whole army but one unit was Gretchin and pretty cool. He was not happy about my army and the minus to hits (we have played before) So most of the game he was not happy with my minus to hits and the fire prism strat was his bane.

Brigade (or may have been two battalions)

Warboss on bike
Mek on Bike
Weird boy as HQ

30 man boys
10 gretchin
10 Gretchin
10 Gretchin
10 Gretchin
10 boys in a truck

Helicopter with 10 tank busters
one of the new racers
Another new racer

Grot cars with flamers few units of those
Grot tanks

That was all I can remember of the army! Besides him just shooting horribly and pulling terrible cards he could not score. Needless to say he was not happy when he failed all his charges the first turn and did not kill anything, tried to concede but I talked him into playing. He won roll off and ...... I seized..... soooooo I wrecked a good portion of the army and scored all my cards. His first turn was as explained. Second turn more of the same though he did get me with bring the 30 man unit of boys back on the board at full strength!!! Kept hinting he would just let them die as they were down to 2 of the 30 guys left. SURPRISE!! But he failed that charge too, weirdly none of my powers worked, even with a +1 on both the farseer and warlock. So three rounds of 3 powers each round and I got guide off one time in the third round. My cards were decent and the final was 11-7 and 3 bonus points. These were first strike, warlord and whoever was closes to center at the end of the game.

Last round vs Liz
Tau Brigade
Fireblade
Darkstrider
Commander 4 fusions
5 units of 5 firewarriors
10 breachers in a Devilfish
Riptdie
Marksmen
Marksmen
Pathfinders
Pathfinders
Missleside
Missleside
3 Sniper Drone

Sorry there is another fast unit there but I do not remember.

Mission was again Maelstorm and you draw three cards and at the beginning of your turn draw up to 3 again. You can also score your opponents objective cards.
Bonus was
Warlord
Linebreaker
First strike

I won the roll off and she did not seize. Brief summary was first round I killed the misslesides, Devilfish and a character and pot shotted some units of firewarriors.
She killed one ranger and her cards were horrible as two objectives she pulled were on my side.
Next round I killed everything but some firewarriors and the cadre.
She conceded as the minus to hit vs tau is brutal and she pulled terrible cards

Final on this one was like 8-3 and I got 3 bonus points.

So I won all three games and won top general and got a nice prize which was the wake the dead set (eldar vs Primaris)

Best Unit was hard to call as my Reapers, Fire Prisms and Ravagers all did work. My Razorwing jetfighter was HORRIBLE and barely killed anything which I should know better as I do not usually play with it!
I would say it was my great warhammer skill but my opponents armies were not set for lots of negatives and honestly the last two had really really bad cards to score. But I got to roll dice and spent 15 bucks and got a great prize and three game that my opponents were great. I voted Liz for best painted and best opponent but Chris, my first opponent was a great guy as well. Jim and I talked and he has a ton of orks and is just feeling out his army so it was fun to talk 40k with him!

Oh and I had the wife "bless" my dice and they worked well all three games! Always have the wife "bless" the dice! Hope this read ok and please if you have any questions let me know! Good luck in your next games!

Really? You go to a "friendly" tournament where you are told not to bring spam lists. You bring a two detachment list, featuring the strongest Craft World and strongest Kabal, You fill out a battallion by spamming 3x the cheapest troop choice available so you can squeeze in 6 heavy support choices, including spamming 3 Disintegrator Ravagers.

You brought a very good list. You brought a near top tier competitive Eldar soup list made by spamming the best choices in both books. You should be proud of this list, and you can take it anywhere and get good results. I'm just throwing shade at you because you went to a "friendly" tournament where you were told to "not bring spam lists", and you brought a cut throat competitive spam list that flies in the face of everything you were told about the event...

Congrats on your win man - your list though is something I would expect to see at a competitive tourney and not a friendly one. There is a reason you steam rolled all of your opponents with ease and it's not all dice related.

Thanks for the feedback I think the point was made the first post that I brought an army that was too strong for the tourney. Since that was all I had painted on short notice that was what I brought. No one said a thing to me about my army being too strong and my opponents were friendly and seemed to enjoy their games. Plus they each had a hard time with their dice and their objective cards which made the games even more lopsided.

But I learned my lesson and the toys for tots tourney this previous weekend I just did not attend as, again it was a fun tourney. Will keep that in mind from now on. Glad I spent time writing up a report ... won't make that mistake again.
