As a sometimes Khorne player, I'm like "SHEEEEEIT!", but as a sometimes Archaon with Tzeentch Disciples player, I'm like "and?".
Anyone think that dragonrider is worth 1,200 points? If he gets the charge he's likely to kill 3 or 4 units in one fell swoop. What would he even have room for in the army with that guy? Maybe some Bloodreavers and a Bloodstoker? Would be good to have a Slaughterpriest and maybe a Juggerlord too. But wow, 1,200 points!
And near $600!

He is not worth it. Massive base means even with fly it is very easy to gum up his charges. It is entirely possible for most armies to just feed him a unit every round while dominating the rest of the board. He will kill that unit really dead, but be held in place that turn. Further, many armies could kill him without much trouble relative to his point tag. I am not sure I would price him outside of triple digits.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page
I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.
I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games. |

From a game standpoint no he's not worth it. He's only really usable in huge games where you have massive amounts of table space to use him properly.
Additionally his point cost is way too high for what he can do to make him anything more than a lolololol unit, which if thats your thing then feel free, but if you are trying to have a competitive game, he would never make the cut.

I view it more as a showpiece model than something I would ever want to use in a game.

Yeah. Bring him out for an apocalypse style game that has 10k points in the table. And I think that is the intent.

Hmmm, yes, I must agree. His base would have to be like a dinner plate!
Now watch, I'll see one across the table next month

My thoughts on the Khorne Dragon monster :
A. Hard pass.
B. Now FW please release the Fimirach mockups that were previewed the same time this model was first showcased in 2016. Pipe dream though, as I think I read that FW put a fork in further expanding the Fimirach range.

I wanna like it. Looks sexy/awesome. Just Idk when I'd even use it for a regular match. Would just be a beautiful shelf model.

This type of model at this price point is just for the hard core collectors more than will see much actual play (I recon anyway). The rules look meh for so many points anyway.
From an aesthetic point of view. Personally, I think the rider looks like he got hit 20 times with an ugly stick, the throne looks like a clump of green stuff with some spikes and skulls pushed in to try and blend it. The dragon looks good apart from the spiked/club hand.
It' like $870 AU even if I was a khorne player I wouldn't even consider paying half for that. But each to own I'm sure there a lot out there who like and bought it

Personally I don’t think so. I mean the model looks awesome, but one look at his stats tells you he’s really not giving the bang for your buck that you could be using in cheaper and more effective chaos models.
