Hello everyone.

There seems to be a resurgence of 40K in our area, and a small 1000 point tournament is coming up soon, too.

Emptying the cupboard, bitsbox and a gift from a local player, I found I have the following models. I'm wondering if I might ask what you experienced players out there think. Could these models fit well with any of the current chapter special rules and stratagems? A bit of a mish mash of minis, but I wonder if anything can be done with them. I guess I could spend a little to add an additional unit or two.

- The Primaris minis from the starter box: 1 Primaris HQ, 5 Intercessors, 5 Hellblasters and 3 Inceptors.

- 20 MKIII Space Marines on the sprue (Looks like I have a few extra heavy weapon bits, too, 2 heavy bolters, 1 plasma cannon and 1 missile launcher)

- 5 Scouts with sniper rifles + 1 Scout with a missile launcher

- 1 Rhino

- 1 Drop Pod

- 1 Ironclad Dreadnought (Hurricane Bolter and Chainfist)

- 1 Space Marine Librarian

- 1 Space Marine Captain (Storm shield and power fist)

- 1 Space Marine Terminator Captain (Power sword and storm bolter)

- 1 Chaplain with Jump Pack

- 1 Rapier Quad Launcher from Forge World

Thanks in advance for any thoughts everyone.

Cheers.

Raven guard are a good option with your tactical marines, could have them sit back in small units during heavy weapons using the-1 to hit while putting them in cover.

Would work well with the scouts too, raven guard are cool.

If it wasn't for special characters Raven Guard would be hands-down the best of the vanilla Marine factions.

Ultramarines if you have Guillamen, Raven Guard if you don’t.

GW made that decision pretty easy.

Chose based on fluff and looks, because rules will change, and leave you with subpar rules at some point.

"Our fantasy settings are grim and dark, but that is not a reflection of who we are or how we feel the real world should be. [...] We will continue to diversify the cast of characters we portray [...] so everyone can find representation and heroes they can relate to. [...] If [you don't feel the same way], you will not be missed"

Are you looking for 100% meta? If not, I would say read over the codex and figure out what fits your style best.

No Pity! No Remorse! No fear!
