Hello!
For the past 4 years, for some reason can never get it right. From stadard coffee pots to Keuregs and from Folgers to black rifle coffee nothing seems to come out right.

My question, since I drink coffee black, and only black
What is the best kind of coffee to do so, and what is the best way to go about making it, that's relitivley easy and doesn't take 20 min
Thanks for any insight! My coffee taste watery and terrible

If you only drink it black, and every type of coffee doesn't taste right, maybe you should try creamer?

Also, I grind my own as much as possible, and add an extra scoop or two more than suggested.

For the process, check out aeropress + freshly ground grains, or if you prefer a heavily roasty taste substitute aeropress with a standard moka machine. As for actual grains find a supplier with a concise and wide line of grain types and experiment with all of their range to find how roasted taste you like. If coffee feels watery you are probably using not adequately ground grains - to coarse for your coffee maker.

chock full o'nuts has one of the best tastes for black coffee for me. It can be bought basically anywhere.

Also - I know you say you only drink black. I assume it's because you want it to be quick and easy. Try putting sweet n low only in black coffee. It's what I drink everyday - unless there is no sweet n low - then just black. How to make? Get a coffee pot...or kurieg machine if you want to be more spendy.

PS tip - if your coffee tastes watery - try putting more coffee in the machine. Amount of coffee in = amount of strength coming out.

I've had a lot of enjoyment from the lighter roasts. K-cup, drop in an ice cube, maybe a splash of cold water to speed it along, and I have decent black coffee I can chug in thirty seconds.

One of the easiest ways to improve the quality of any brewed drink is to start with good water. If your tapwater is low quality, the coffee won't taste good. Try brewing with bottled water, or getting a filter to use for the water.

But yeah, as other posters have said, if your coffee tastes watery, add more coffee next time.

Grind your own beans, and get a French press.

Make coffee in small batches to keep it fresh, don’t make a whole pot unless you or the family will drink it quickly. Don’t add too much coffee bean per cups of water. If you’re not a cream or sugar person, try honey, kahuah, baileys, whip cream.

As a black coffee fan myself what do you like in a black? Light roasts or dark?

Also, stay away from keurigs, they don't brew right.

Some things I do to make sure my coffee is tolerable. I have a coffee house I prefer because of how they roast and brew.
Always use cold water in the tank. Hot water being heated up more and brewed will scorch the grounds and give it that fruity/acidic taste.

Once coffee has been brewed, turn off the coffee maker. Too much heat maintained on the coffee tends to produce that fruity/acidic taste.

Get a French press or drip coffee system and try different coffees till you find one you like.

I swear by the French Press. Cheap, easy quick and limitless options to tinker.
Morning routine: put kettle on, let dog out, shuffle around for 5 minutes pretending to get ready, let dog in, two scoops ground fresh coffee in press, hot water on top, 5 more minutes pretending to get ready, perfect coffee.
Rough morning? Add extra half scoop coffee.
Face day, kick butt and take names.

A French Press is a cafetiere, yes?

I have a 3 cup one at work and brew up a kick starter every morning.

I use strength three or more often four, ready ground coffee. I keep it in a sealed canister for freshness. You can vary the strength by the amount of grounds put in.

A grinder is a good piece of kit but it's not practical at the office.

Had to Google it, looks like they're the same. Cool trick to use less scoops of coffee, get a bigger scoop

When I was in Angola, I used to get my morning coffee on the way to work at this restaurant that opened in the morning just to sell coffee, and they gave you a stick of cinnamon to dump in your coffee.
Tasted absolutely amazing. Still do it myself now and again.
Hope we get a project there again. Used to get this local brand beans at the airport on the way out. Best coffee I've ever had.

Also, yes, cafetiere is the way to go.

My suggestion? Google the coffee shop "Green Beans", find the nearest location, go there, buy coffee.
