Regular Dakkanaut

Which do people prefer since the new codex came out and what's more competitive. Also why did you make that choice?

I like the kustom force field on the morkanaught it's too good.

Gorkanaut and tellyporta combo. But really I'd go with 2x smashbreaker/skullbreaker type battlewagon. Sorry don't have the dex on me atm. Although I do plan on painting a deathskullz morkanaut for my overall collection.

They have two different styles of playing.

The morkanaut should be taken in a bad moons' detachment as a source of KFF and gun boat. The gorkanaut only shines as goffs (more punch) or evil sunz (better odds to get into combat) deployed by tellyporta combined with the ramming speed stratagem, for a grand total of 4 CPs.

I don't think there are other ways to field them at competitive levels. Maybe the morkanaut can be deathskulls but the bad moons' one could get more re-rolls and the invuln seems like a waste for deathskulls since they already have one.

Well evil sun one doesn't neccessarilly need the ramming speed.

Still. Both are expensive and not THAT punchy. Deff dreads or bonebreakers are better deal for that. Both evil sun obviously.

Not necessarily, I agree. But since we're talking about a 310 points + 2CPs investment you absolutely want it to succed that charge roll. It could be risky to save the CPs of ramming speed and trying to make it anyway.

Deff dreads or a bonebreaka are more effective for that role, so are meganobz, very true. Since the naut model exists and someone may want to use it in a competitive or semicompetitive meta I can only imagine it as an alternative to the most popular Tellyported units.
