Just a reminder that Sunday the 2nd of December is the start of Advent. You are officially allowed to display your Christmas holiday avatars from tomorrow.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

They're popular this year... I have wine personally. I did point out to my parents that it's traditional to consume the advent calendar treat first thing in the morning so they were endangering my life and the lives of anybody near my drive to work, but I refused to hand it back.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

When I was managing an off-licence a couple of years ago we had an excellent Craft Beer Advent calendar.

The funniest one I've seen this year was at Aldi or Lidl. It was a tool and attachments calendar. Every day you get a new hex bolt spanner head, or an abrazive disc or something like that.
