Looking for some advice on what else to add to my SoD army, currently I have.

20 chaos wars with shields
10 mounted marauders. javelins
5 knights. spears
lord or sorcerer lord on manticore.
chaos lord on demonic mount.
bloodsecrator.
2 chariots horse and gorebeast

This list came in at just under 1000ish it's really terrible on its own, like really really bad and expensive. I've had it for awhile and I've been out of the loop for AoS. Is there anyway to make this army kick some Butts?

It is never going to be great.

I had most succes with knights with glaives. I play 30 knights (2x5 2x10) the units of 10 with glaives. the other with regular weapons. Chaos lord on daemonic mount can stack his command ability for a nice push, but you will always have an uphill battle against armies with heavy armour like sce.

My (small)tournament STD list looks like this (I have fun with it, but it will not win against the cheesy lists and you will have to pull some tactical tricks to win, but I enjoy it)
The alternative I sometimes do is drop 10 warriors and the spell for 40 marauders:

MMM Can i not use these anymore and make an alliance with something that has more punch, it would be nice to add them to a demon army, maybe Tzeentch?

I would definitely go for a god specific book. The full books are just a giant leap ahead.

I'm trying out 10 Knights Lord on mount and Blades of Putrefaction in my Nurgle army. Sounds good on paper.

you can definitely just run them in a god specific army and use there book. I thought your post was about getting a STD list.

At that point it might also be worth to look into Archaon. In tzeentch you can make him (almost) unkillable.
