Straight infantry marines list, Guilliman style. What would you change about it?



Ultramarines Battalion

Captain on a bike/w storm shield and thunder hammer
Luitenant/w jumppack, Storm bolter, and power sword

3x Intersessors/w aux grenade launcher (5 man)

Apothecary
Company Ancient/w Standard of the Emporer Ascendant, storm bolter

3x Hellblaster squad (6 man)


Supreme command detachment

Ultramarines Librarian on a bike/w Stormbolter
Blood angels Librarian on a bike/w Stormbolter
Space Wolves Librarian on a bike/w Stormbolter

Roboute Guilliman /warlord



The libriarians are all gonna be Ultramarines themed. I only wanted the other psychic powers.

I think your supreme command might be illegal, because imperium is no longer a usable faction keyword.

Thus the usage of Adeptes Astartes instead.

Umm I think i'd change the fact you only have one Troop squads and therefore Battalion is illegal.

You need 2 intercessor squads or one intercessor and one Strike squad minimum

i'm wondering why you need the blood angels and space wolf librarians. why not 3 ultramarine librarians?

Not using vehicles with 2000 points is maybe an bad idea.

About those 3 libys from different chapters in the same detachment, I'm not sure if they can.

It is an interesting list but you have nothing to put in reserves so that you have options to strike where you can hurt the enemy.

I see the fact of the Guilliman bubble around your Hellblasters with the banner for the overhead shoot once a Hellblaster die. That's a pain in your enemy ass.

You will have enought command points, it is a shame not having ML and HB.

But hey, it's your play list and your playing stile. Personally I am not huge fan of psychic, have too bad rolls when I cast.

One question: how would you do for controlling objectives?

Yeah the librian from different chapters trick is legal. They share the adeptes astartes keyword so they can all go in the same detachment, they loose their chapter tactics though.



The reason you don't go 3 ultramarines libbies is because there aren't enough good powers to be taking 3 of those in one list. By taking the different chapters you get access to all their psychic trees.

Usually I'd be taking:

Ultra libby: Might of Heros/Null zone
BA libby: Quickening/Blood Lance
SW libby: Fury of the Wolf Spirits/Livid Lightning


They can of course be swapped around as you don't usually pick your psychic powers till the battle begins though.

Basically, the Roboute blob controls the center of the table and the bikerstar rolls up whichever flank needs it the most.


The thing that I love about the hellblaster banner combo is that you can overheat in overwatch, have a few guys from overheating, then shoot again from the banner (now at their normal BS). Its almost as good as Tau in overwatch. Then the apothecary can bring back one hellblaster a turn. I'd ideally like 2 apothecary but not sure if dropping 2 hellblasters would be worth it or not.

Mephiston might be better than the BA Librarian on a bike. I’m not quite sure what the difference in points is.
Being able to use wings of Sanguinius and the quickening will make him fast and he’s pretty tough.

Is the Bloodlance power that good?

I think it may be worth considering if your battle plan revolves around it. It is not a sneaky-cunning strategy and your average opponent will probably focusing your Hellblasters down. Bringing them up again could be worth a try in a game!

dump the BA Libby and bring in a DA libby now you have 2 libbys tossing out -1 to shoot powers.

I like the DA libby, but he mostly does Debuffs, which are a lot harder to get off than buff's usually.

I can take a +d3 attacks and charge range buff + character sniping power, or I can take Debuff one unit (usually after they have shot once or twice) and a permanent -1 to hit for the rest of the game Debuff for one model.

I'd usually rather kill stuff than try to debuff it.
