Humming Great Unclean One of Nurgle
|
So my gaming buddies have been encouraging me to just bring something different to tournaments so I came up with this semi-serious Nurgle list:
-GUO (Witherstave)
-Lord of Afflictions (General - Grandfather's Blessing)
-Harbinger of Decay
-Pusgoyles x6
-Blightkings x5
-Blightkings x5
-Warshrine (Nurgle)
-Cogs
-Shakles
1940/2000
So the Pusgoyles (42 wounds) will have 4+ armor, 5+ FNP, 5+ FNP (again), 6+ FNP and the GUO sits behind/next to them projecting a 12" bubble of forcing the enemy to re-roll 6s to hit. The big downside is this list needs to clump up hard to gain all its benefits, though that can be alleviated by summoning plaguebearers onto objectives.
What do you guys think? Should I fit in a second harbinger in case the first one dies?

Maybe put the witherstave on the Harbinger so he can take advantage of the Look Out, Sir defensive bonus?
I'm not sure I'd take 10 Blightkings without Gutrot or Blight Cyst. Could drop 5 to take 40 marauders for some more speedy bodies, although that would eat some endless spells.

That repeatable FNP is SOOOO horribly annoying, I think it's a super solid route (I had to fight a Phoenix Temple Aelves army last month).
But I second the notion of Gutrot. Blightcyst is super good, but the Pusgoyle speed is also very good.
I think if you take Gutrot go for the Blightcyst too, otherwise I think summoning will take care of outreaching to further table positions.

Gutrot IS awesome, but it would he putting blightkings out of the 5+ & 6+ FNPs from the Harbinger and Warshrine (respectively), as well as the re-roll hits of 1 from the LoA. 40 marauders is a great idea, though...

Haven't tried it yet. Most of my regular games week to week are path to glory. Automatically Appended Next Post: I might not use it after all because I realized how fantastically unfun it would be to play against.

For tournaments, I'd think that'd be expected. Considering in my neck of the woods I have to deal with spammed mortal wounds regularly, this type of list would be dependent on how well I can roll saves against those mortal wounds and at the same time get through their ridiculous saves without my own spammable mortal wounds.

Absolutely, but I already have a tournament cheese list and the point of this is to be more fun.

I could see why it might be a little OP in a casual setting if your group is a little more relaxed. I know where I play its almost impossible to play anything for fun. Maybe you could drop the shrine so it's not to bad?
