I'm planning on starting an Ironjawz army and to be honest I've never been big on putting much thought into bases, so I'm looking for suitable resin bases.

I've looked for some time now and haven't really found what I'm looking for until I came across these pictures and the bases look absolutely perfect and just what I'm after. Anyone have any idea what bases they are?

Kudos to whoever painted these, great looking models!

Those look like actual Age of Sigmar plastic bases from GW to me, selectively covered with sand, stones and eventually static grass.

Edit: Oh, and skulls. Wouldn't be Warhammer without skulls.

Oh wow, you're right! I actually looked at the GW bases just the other day and dismissed them because they have painted them in pretty disgusting colors. Guess I'll get some mileage out of them by using similar techniques and painting them in muted colors instead.

Thanks!

Yeah, I guess. GW has a way of painting showcase models that is... divisive.

I actually like the way they painted the ovals. Blue and brown looks nice to me.

I only have a couple of Age of Sigmar bases because they were the cheapest way to upgrade from square to round bases, and I figured I'd just adapt them to my usual basing method as I bought them to have round bases, not sculpted detail. I do use the 40k ones, though, and I am quite happy with muted, dark colors that give context to but don't interfere with the more detailed and brighter models on them. I'd be hesitant to choose garish colors for GW's designs.
